Relaxed fit: This garment is slightly loose for enhanced comfort. With its relaxed, 90s-style fit, the TNF Fleeski Full-Zip Fleece works just as hard worn under a waterproof shell or as a stand-alone layer. We've upped the practicality with zipped pockets, elastic cuffs and an internal drawcord at the hem that you can adjust for shape. And thanks to the ultra-warm recycled polyester fleece, it's really wearable anywhere and everywhere, too. This fleece is part of our Circular Design initiative – a collection designed to minimise waste and pollution. Once you're done with it, recycle it back to us to keep the adventures going.

Washing
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors. Turn the fleece inside out before washing — protects the embroidered logos on the left chest and back-right shoulder, plus the woven red box logo on the lower-right sleeve, from abrasion against other garments and zippers. Use a mild technical cleaner such as Nikwax Tech Wash or Granger's Performance Wash — formulated for synthetic fleece, they clean without damaging the 255 g/m² body fabric or the 105 g/m² lining. Do not use regular laundry detergent, fabric softener, bleach, or dry clean. Fabric softener coats the fleece fibers and reduces the loft and breathability. Do not iron.
Drying
Tumble dry on low heat — synthetic fleece needs heat to fully restore loft after washing. A 20-30 minute tumble on low heat will dry the fleece completely and restore the pile texture. Do not line dry — line drying alone doesn't supply enough heat to restore fleece loft, and leaving damp fleece piled in a hamper promotes mildew. If line drying is the only option, tumble for at least 15 minutes on low heat afterward.
Jacquard-Tape Trim Care
The patterned jacquard-tape trim on the center front zip and hand pocket openings is woven (not printed) and is durable through normal washing cycles. Avoid ironing directly over the trim — heat can flatten or distort the woven pattern. The trim is on the highest-abrasion zones of the fleece, so inspect it periodically for fraying at the ends; small frays can be trimmed with sharp scissors without affecting the appearance.
Embroidered & Woven Logo Care
The embroidered logos (left chest and back-right shoulder) and woven red box label (lower-right sleeve) are durable but the embroidery thread can be damaged by high heat. Wash inside out to protect the embroidery from abrasion against other garments, zippers, and buttons. Avoid ironing directly over the embroidery — if ironing is needed, iron from the inside and place a cloth between the iron and the embroidery. The polyester embroidery thread can melt at high iron temperatures.
Pilling Prevention
Mid-weight fleece (255 g/m²) is moderately resistant to pilling but can pill at high-friction zones (under pack straps, under arms, where a seatbelt crosses the chest). Wash inside out to minimize external abrasion. Use a fabric shaver or sweater comb periodically to remove pilling — this restores the smooth face without damaging the underlying fibers. Pilling is a normal characteristic of fleece, not a defect; removing it regularly extends the garment's appearance life.
Zipper Care
The exposed center front zip is lightweight but can accumulate lint, salt, and debris. Rinse the zipper with fresh water after saltwater exposure — salt crystals can corrode the zipper teeth over time. If the zipper becomes sticky, a light application of Zeppa Zipper Lubricant or a silicone-based zipper wax restores smooth operation. Do not force the zipper — if it catches, work it back and forth gently rather than pulling hard.
Drawcord Hem Care
The internal drawcord with cord locks at the hem adjusts the silhouette from boxy to slightly shaped. Inspect the cord periodically — the cord can fray at the adjustment points where it exits the cord locks. If fraying is visible, replace the cord before it snaps. The cord locks are durable but can fill with lint or debris in daily wear; clear with a needle or compressed air if they stop locking properly.
Circular Design — End of Life
This fleece is part of TNF's Circular Design initiative — the garment is thoughtfully constructed to be disassembled and recycled at the end of its life into raw materials for a second-generation product. When the fleece is no longer wearable (significant pilling, lost elastic recovery, broken zipper, frayed trim), don't throw it in the landfill. Many TNF retail partners and take-back programs accept end-of-life garments for disassembly and recycling. The 100% recycled polyester body and lining can be processed back into yarn or insulation fill, keeping the materials in use.
Storage (Off-Season)
Store clean and fully dry in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Folding is preferred over hanging for mid-weight fleece — hanging on a regular hanger can stretch the shoulder seams over time. If hanging is the only option, use a wide padded hanger to distribute the weight. Cedar blocks or lavender sachets in the storage area deter moths without leaving a strong scent on the recycled polyester fleece.
