Women's Summit Series Himalayan Down Parka
Women's Summit Series Himalayan Down Parka
Expedition Down Parka · 800 Fill ProDown™ · CLOUD DOWN Construction

Designed to withstand the coldest alpine conditions, the Women's Summit Series Himalayan Down Parka features our CLOUD DOWN construction to help reduce cold spots. In addition, the targeted use of FUTURELIGHT™ fabric delivers increased protection from the elements, and our 800 fill ProDown™ dries faster than untreated down.

CLOUD DOWN Construction
TNF's proprietary CLOUD DOWN construction helps reduce cold spots AND increases packability — engineered down baffles for better thermal mapping in extreme cold
800 Fill ProDown™ with Hydrophobic Finish
Premium 800-fill ProDown™ enhanced with a hydrophobic finish that allows the down to dry faster than untreated down — maintains loft and warmth when damp
RDS-Certified Down
Down is Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certified by Control Union (CU 843098) — full traceability from farm to finished product, ethical sourcing guaranteed
Pertex® Y Fuse Shell (15D)
Pertex® Y Fuse fabric has enhanced downproof and water-beading properties due to uniquely engineered Y-shaped filaments — the shell resists down migration AND sheds moisture better than standard ripstop
Targeted FUTURELIGHT™ Zones
FUTURELIGHT™ is strategically placed in the hood, yoke, outer sleeves, and lower-back panel — adds breathable-waterproof protection exactly where you need it (the high-exposure and high-sweat zones), without covering the whole jacket in heavier waterproof fabric
Climbing-Helmet-Compatible Hood
Adjustable hood with pre-tensioned elastic opening + cinch-cord adjustment in back — fits over a climbing helmet without cinching down, no loss of peripheral vision
2-Way Center Front Zip
Exposed two-way, reverse-coil, #5 center front zip with full-length insulated internal draft tube — zip from the bottom for harness access, zip from the top for cold-weather seal
Concealed-Zip Hand Pockets
Concealed-zip hand pockets stay low-profile under a harness or pack hipbelt — clean look without bulky pocket zippers catching on gear
Two Internal Mesh Drop-In Pockets
Internal mesh drop-in pockets sized for skins, gloves, or a beanie — easy access to the layers you need mid-route without opening the main zip
Internal Elastic-Bound Cuffs
Internal elastic-bound cuffs seal out snow and cold at the wrist without binding — keeps gloves integrated with the parka
Cinch-Cord In Pockets
Hem cinch-cord ends exit into the hand pockets — adjust hem cinch without exposing the cords or losing them in the snow
Lightweight Stuffsack Included
Compresses down into a lightweight stuffsack for transport — pack the parka into the stuffsack for the approach, then unpack and let it loft at camp

Sustainability & Certification

Recycled Materials
Body fabric + lining (100% recycled nylon)
Down Certification
Responsible Down Standard (RDS) — Control Union
CU Number
CU 843098
DWR Treatment
Non-PFC (no perfluorinated chemicals)
Washing
Close all zippers before washing. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle using a down-specific wash (such as Nikwax Down Wash). Do not use regular detergent, bleach, or fabric softener — they strip the Pertex® Y Fuse downproof properties, degrade the FUTURELIGHT™ membrane, clump the ProDown™ clusters, and damage the RDS-certified down.
Drying
Tumble dry LOW with 2-3 clean tennis balls or wool dryer balls — the balls break up ProDown™ clumps and restore full loft. Multiple low-heat cycles (2-3 hours) are normal — the 800 fill ProDown must dry completely inside and out to prevent mildew and preserve insulating power. Do not use high heat — it damages the down, the Pertex® Y Fuse face fabric, and the FUTURELIGHT™ membrane.
DWR Refresh
When water stops beading on the Pertex® Y Fuse body or the FUTURELIGHT™ zones, reproof with a spray-on DWR treatment (such as Nikwax TX Direct Spray-On) to restore water repellency. Apply separately to the main body and the FUTURELIGHT™ zones for best results.
ProDown-Specific Wash Cycle
800 fill ProDown™ is premium treated down. Avoid commercial laundromats that may use harsh detergents or high-heat drying. Hand wash in a bathtub with down-specific wash for best results if commercial machines are not suitable.
Field Repairs
Small tears in the Pertex® Y Fuse or FUTURELIGHT™ shell should be patched with tenacious tape (TNF's preferred field-repair material) as soon as you spot them. Down escaping from a tear can be pushed back inside with a toothpick before patching.
Zippers
Periodically lubricate the 2-way center front zip and pocket zippers with a silicone-based lubricant. The #5 YKK reverse-coil zip is built tough but alpine grit can wear it — clean tracks with a soft brush before lubricating.
Climbing Helmet Hood
When adjusting the climbing-helmet-compatible hood, do it with the helmet on. Pre-tensioned elastic should be set to fit over the helmet brim, not adjusted cinched-down without it. Misadjusted hood = reduced peripheral vision on the route.
Storage
Store uncompressed in a cool, dry place — never in the stuffsack for the off-season. Hanging on a wide hanger or storing loosely folded preserves 800 fill ProDown™ loft and prevents clumping. Ensure fully dry before storing to prevent mildew and odor. Long-term compression destroys down loft permanently.
