Women's Summit Series Torre Egger FUTURELIGHT™ Pants
Women's · Shell Pant · Standard Fit · FUTURELIGHT™ 3L · Mountaineering / Ice Climbing

With narrower cuffs for mountaineering and ice climbing boots, the Women's Summit Series Torre Egger FUTURELIGHT™ Pants deliver the functionality you need to reach the summit or crush a new route. Features like harness-compatible pockets with internal gear storage, removable suspenders, and a fully waterproof, breathable shell make them indispensable on route.

FUTURELIGHT™ 3L Shell
Breathable-waterproof, seam-sealed FUTURELIGHT™ 3L shell keeps rain, snow, and spindrift out while letting body vapor escape — the breathable layer matters more on long, hard routes where you sweat under a pack and a pack cover isn't an option.
Recycled Nylon Body
Body fabric is made with recycled nylon ripstop for a lighter environmental footprint without sacrificing abrasion or tear resistance — keeps weight low for the climb up and holds up to granite, ice tools, and the general abuse of alpine objectives.
Alpine Boot-Compatible Cuffs
Activity-specific leg shape and narrower leg openings are designed to fit cleanly over lower-circumference mountaineering and ice climbing boots — no extra bulk at the cuff where the gaiter seals against the upper, and no exposed pants leg over a plastic boot rand.
Full-Length Side Zips
Full-length side access with two-way #5 YKK® AquaGuard® zips lets you vent from the top down on the approach or pull the pants on and off over boots at belays without removing crampons, harness, or gloves.
Women-Specific Articulation
Women-specific articulated patterning is cut for fit and mobility through the hips and knees — gusseted where you need range for high steps and stemming, and pre-shaped so the knee doesn't pull when you're front-pointing up an ice runnel.
Harness-Compatible Pockets
Two harness-compatible horizontal thigh pockets sit above a climbing harness for easy access to gloves, snacks, or a small camera — each uses a #5 YKK® AquaGuard® zip, and the right pocket adds an internal gear loop plus an internal pouch for organizing small items.
Vertical Thigh Pocket
Vertical thigh pocket with a #3 YKK® AquaGuard® zip is sized for a map, a route topo, or a slim phone — runs vertically to keep the pocket from interfering with thigh straps on the harness.
Removable Suspenders
Adjustable, removable suspenders use a tear-drop, single-point attachment for reduced bulk and easy on/off — the low-profile attachment sits flat under a pack's hipbelt and won't dig in during long approaches.
Clean-Finish Darted Waistband
Clean-finish, darted front waistband with adjustable side tabs and an interlock-knit back panel — the knit back panel stretches with you for a close-to-body fit that holds the pants up without digging in during high steps and reachy moves.
Integrated Gaiters
Integrated gaiters use stretch fabric and gripper tape for a seamless fit with boots — keeps snow, ice, and gravel out of the boot on approaches, kick-turns, and rappels where loose terrain is the rule.
High-Denier Kickpatches
High-denier kickpatches and internal cuffs protect the lower leg from abrasion and puncture during repeated front-pointing, edge work, and crampon accidents — internal cuffs add a second layer of insurance against the occasional tip slip.
Adjustable Hem Snap-Tabs
Adjustable snap-tab closure on the hem lets you cinch the cuff tight over a mountaineering boot or loosen it for a regular ski touring boot — no need to layer pants over the gaiter to seal them against the upper.
Non-PFC DWR Finish
Non-PFC durable water-repellent finish causes rain and wet snow to bead up and roll off the face fabric — keeps the shell's breathable pores from saturating so the waterproof membrane can keep working in wet weather over multi-day trips.
Standard Fit
Standard fit layers over thin thermal leggings and a light insulation piece without pinching the waist — articulated enough for high steps and stemming, and cut to sit cleanly under a harness and pack hipbelt without bunching.

Sustainability

Recycled Content
100% recycled nylon body fabric
DWR Treatment
Non-PFC (no perfluorinated chemicals)
Washing
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a technical cleaner (no regular detergent or fabric softener — both leave residues that clog the FUTURELIGHT™ membrane's pores and degrade the DWR finish over time). Zip all zippers fully, including the side-access and pocket zippers, and velcro any gaiter closures before washing so they don't snag the ripstop face fabric.
Drying
Tumble dry low on low heat or hang dry. A short tumble cycle on low heat actually helps reactivate the non-PFC DWR finish on the face fabric — air drying alone will leave the beading weaker until the next dryer cycle. Don't use high heat, which can damage the seam tape and warp the kickpatches.
DWR Reactivation
When water stops beading on the face fabric and starts to wet out, machine wash with a technical cleaner, then tumble dry on low for 20–30 minutes to revive the non-PFC DWR. If the DWR is fully gone, apply a spray-on or wash-in non-PFC DWR re-treatment per the product's instructions.
Stain & Salt
Rinse off saltwater, mud, and climbing chalk promptly — salt crystals and chalk residue can wick moisture through the face fabric and prematurely clog the membrane. A rinse in clean water after a salty or chalky day is the easiest way to extend the shell's life.
Storage
Store hanging or loosely folded in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Don't compress the FUTURELIGHT™ shell under heavy gear for long periods — prolonged compression can stress the seam tape and degrade the membrane. Wash before long-term storage so body oils and salt don't sit on the fabric through the off-season.
Repair
Small punctures in the ripstop body can be patched with self-adhesive ripstop repair patches sized slightly larger than the hole. For larger damage, seam tape lifting, or zipper failures, The North Face offers a lifetime warranty — submit a warranty claim through the website rather than field-repairing gear that's under warranty.
