Women’s Junction Insulated Vest
Women’s Junction Insulated Vest
Apparel · Outerwear / Insulated Vest

The Women’s Junction Insulated Vest balances high-tech protection with clean lines and versatility to create an easy-to-wear outer layer. It has a comfortable lined collar, our HEATSEEKER™ synthetic insulation and a water-repellent finish for wet weather.

HEATSEEKER™ Synthetic Insulation
100 g of HEATSEEKER™ synthetic insulation — hollow-core fibers for added warmth, performance, and durability. Continues insulating when damp, unlike down
High-Pile Fleece-Lined Collar
346 g/m² 70% recycled polyester, 30% polyester high-pile fleece lines the collar — cozy against the chin/neck when zipped up, adds warmth to the upper body without the bulk of an insulated hood
Non-PFC DWR Finish
Non-PFC durable water-repellent finish on the 50D 73 g/m² body — sheds light rain, snow, and wet weather without PFCs
Circular Design
Thoughtfully designed to be disassembled and recycled by TNF at the end of its life into raw materials for a second generation of products — closes the material loop, minimizes waste and pollution
Internal Draft Flap at Center Front
Exposed center front zip with an internal draft flap — second layer of weather seal at the front, prevents the zip from directly contacting skin when zipped up
Secure-Zip Hand Pockets
Two secure-zip hand pockets at the waist — keep phone, keys, or small essentials safe during daily wear
Stretch Binding on Collar & Armholes
Stretch binding at the collar and armholes — clean-finished edges, holds shape through wear, no bulk at the openings
Internal Locker Loop
Internal locker loop at the back of the neckline — hang on a hook for storage or transport without creasing the body
Recycled Materials
Body fabric 100% recycled polyester, collar lining 70% recycled polyester, insulation 70% post-consumer recycled
Regular Fit
True-to-size regular fit that layers over a baselayer or light fleece and works as outerwear on its own in shoulder-season weather

Washing
Close the center front zip and pocket zips before washing. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors. Use a mild technical cleaner such as Nikwax Tech Wash or Granger’s Performance Wash to maintain the non-PFC DWR finish on the 50D 73 g/m² body and preserve the HEATSEEKER™ 100 g insulation loft. Regular household detergent leaves residue that degrades the DWR and mats the synthetic fill. Avoid chlorine bleach, fabric softener, and dryer sheets. Do not dry clean (solvents destroy the DWR + the HEATSEEKER™ loft).
Drying
Tumble dry on low with 2–3 clean tennis balls or dryer balls — the balls are critical for breaking up clumps in the 100 g HEATSEEKER™ fill and restoring loft. A short 10–15 minute low-heat cycle is usually enough — long high-heat cycles can damage the recycled polyester face, the HEATSEEKER™ fill, the high-pile fleece collar, and the embroidered logo. Hang dry is also fine if you tumble briefly afterward to restore DWR water beading.
DWR Re-Proofing
When water stops beading on the 50D 73 g/m² body, re-treat with a spray-on DWR such as Nikwax TX Direct or Granger’s Performance Repel. Apply to the clean, damp vest, paying extra attention to the shoulders and the front chest. A short low-heat tumble helps set the finish.
HEATSEEKER™ Re-Fluffing
The 100 g HEATSEEKER™ synthetic fill can lose loft over years of compression, especially after long storage under heavy gear. If the vest feels less warm than it used to, tumble dry on low with 2–3 clean tennis balls for 10–15 minutes to re-fluff the fiber clusters and restore thermal performance. Manual hand-fluffing of any clumped sections is also effective.
High-Pile Fleece Collar Care
The 346 g/m² high-pile fleece collar is the softest part of the vest but also the most likely to pill with heavy wear. Periodically brush the fleece with a soft-bristle brush (or use a sweater comb) to keep the fibers upright. If pills develop over time, a fabric shaver restores the surface. Do not iron the high-pile fleece — direct heat flattens the fibers and the fleece loses its loft.
Stretch Binding Care
The stretch binding at the collar and armholes is the most fragile part of the vest. Avoid pulling the vest on or off by the collar or armholes — pull from the body. If the binding starts to fray or pull loose, a quick reinforcement stitch with matching thread restores it in 5 minutes. Don’t over-stretch the armholes when layering heavy sweaters underneath — can permanently deform the binding.
Zippers & Hardware
The exposed center front zip and the pocket zips are the most failure-prone parts. Keep the coils clean (a soft brush works), lubricate sparingly with a silicone-based zipper lubricant (Nikwax, GE Silicone II, or beeswax) if they start sticking, and never force a stuck zipper — back it off and clear debris from the coil. The internal draft flap adds a small fabric layer behind the center zip; check it periodically to make sure it hasn’t torn loose, which would defeat the chin-comfort purpose.
Storage (Off-Season)
Store clean, dry, and uncompressed in a cool, dark, dry place — ideally hanging on a wide hanger (the internal locker loop is designed for this) or folded loosely. Never store a synthetic-fill vest in a compression stuff sack for long periods — extended compression permanently damages the 100 g HEATSEEKER™ fill loft and reduces thermal performance. Use the locker loop to hang the vest during weekly use to keep the high-pile fleece collar from matting under compression. Keep out of direct sunlight (UV degrades both the recycled polyester face fabric and the non-PFC DWR).
Circular Design Lifecycle
At end of life, return the vest to TNF’s Circular Design take-back program where the 100% recycled polyester body, 70% recycled collar lining, and 70% post-consumer recycled HEATSEEKER™ fill can be broken down and recycled into raw materials for a second generation of products. The mono-material construction (mostly polyester throughout) makes the recycling process cleaner and more efficient. Do not add additional patches, custom embroidery, or non-polyester elements if you plan to return the vest at end of life — those additions can disrupt the recycling process.
