Women's GORE-TEX® Hex Jacket
Women's GORE-TEX® Hex Jacket
Ski / Snowboard · GORE-TEX · Freeride

Designed to make a statement on the slopes, the Women's GORE-TEX® Hex Jacket's freeride fit and 100% recycled GORE-TEX® fabric seamlessly blend performance and expression. Inspired by the iconic Mountain Jacket and engineered for snowsports, it features internal and external secure-zip pockets, underarm zips to provide venting, and a removable powder skirt that helps keep the snow out.

Freeride Fit
Roomy freeride fit through the body and sleeves — room to layer a hardshell-compatible midlayer (down sweater, fleece) without restricting movement on chairlifts, hikes to the lift, or in the trees. Drop-hem silhouette sits comfortably over pants without riding up.
100% Recycled GORE-TEX® Fabric
Premium GORE-TEX® shell fabric made with 100% recycled face material — the same waterproof, windproof, breathable membrane performance as virgin GORE-TEX®, with a better end-of-life story. Bluesign®-certified and PFAS-free in this construction.
Mountain Jacket Heritage
Inspired by TNF's iconic Mountain Jacket — the design DNA carries the brand's most enduring silhouette cues (articulated sleeves, clean chest lines, signature baffling/stitching) into a modern freeride shell. Performance where it counts, style where it shows.
Snowsports-Engineered
Built specifically for ski and snowboard use — not a generalist rain shell. Cuffs, hem, and powder skirt are all designed for snow-day realities rather than fair-weather hiking.
Internal Secure-Zip Pockets
Internal secure-zip pockets sized for goggles, phone, wallet, or a hand warmer. The zipper closures keep valuables from going missing on chairlifts or in the trees when the jacket is unzipped to vent.
External Secure-Zip Pockets
External secure-zip hand pockets — hand-warmer sized with the zipper pull positioned to stay out of the way of pack straps or harness webbing.
Underarm Ventilation Zips
Underarm zips dump heat fast on the boot-pack up or the long traverse — full-length pit zips that work over or under a pack. Critical for spring skiing, sidecountry hikes, and warm-weather resort days.
Removable Powder Skirt
Removable powder skirt with gripper elastic seals out snow on waist-deep days. Removable when you're not in the deep stuff (park days, spring slush, après) so it doesn't bunch or ride up.

Washing GORE-TEX® Shells
Machine wash warm (105°F / 40°C) on a gentle cycle with a mild technical detergent. Skip regular laundry detergent — it leaves residues that clog the GORE-TEX® membrane pores and reduce breathability. Use a technical wash specifically formulated for waterproof shells (Nikwax Tech Wash, Granger's Performance Wash, or similar).
Zip & Close Before Washing
Zip up all zippers (front, pockets, vents) and close any Velcro cuffs before washing. Open zippers can snag the GORE-TEX® face fabric and create small tears. Velcro catching on the face fabric pulls fibers and degrades the DWR finish over time.
DWR Refresh (Critical for GORE-TEX)
GORE-TEX® relies on a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish on the face fabric to make water bead up rather than soak in. When water stops beading and starts to "wet out" (the fabric looks dark and heavy when wet), refresh the DWR with a spray-on or wash-in reproofer — Nikwax TX.Direct Spray-On or Granger's Performance Repel are good choices. Apply to a clean, dry jacket and tumble dry low for 20 minutes to heat-cure the finish.
Drying
Tumble dry low or hang to dry. Tumble drying on low heat is actually preferred for GORE-TEX® shells — it reactivates the DWR finish and helps maintain the factory water repellency. Avoid high heat, which can damage the membrane and delaminate the taped seams.
Powder Skirt Care
The removable powder skirt has gripper elastic that loses elasticity over time if compressed for long periods. After washing, reattach it and lay the jacket flat to dry so the elastic recovers its shape. If the gripper starts to slip, hand-wash the skirt separately with a gentle detergent.
Stain & Salt Treatment
For road salt, mud, or food stains, pre-treat with a technical wash solution before the main cycle. Avoid chlorine bleach, fabric softener, and stain-remover sprays — they damage the GORE-TEX® membrane and degrade DWR. For tree sap or wax, let it harden, then peel off and treat the residue with a small amount of mineral spirits on a cloth (test first on an inconspicuous area).
Underarm Vent Zippers
The underarm vent zips will accumulate sweat and body oil over time — wipe the zipper teeth with a damp cloth after heavy use. If they stick, lubricate with a beeswax candle or a paraffin-based zipper lubricant (not silicone spray — it can interact poorly with technical fabrics).
Storage
Store on a wide hanger in a dry closet. Avoid stuffing the jacket into a compression sack for long periods — the GORE-TEX® membrane needs to breathe and the seam tape can delaminate under sustained compression. For travel, fold loosely rather than compression-pack.
Re-Waterproofing Seams
If you notice water seeping through seams (rather than beading on the face fabric), the factory seam tape may be wearing out. Apply a liquid seam sealer to the inside of the seams following the product instructions — this is a less-common repair but extends the life of the jacket significantly.
Repair & Warranty
TNF offers a limited lifetime warranty that covers manufacturing defects. For accidental damage (rips, broken zippers), TNF's in-house repair program can usually fix shells for a fraction of replacement cost. Don't toss a damaged GORE-TEX® shell — repairs are typically economical and the jacket can easily last another decade.
