Washing
Close the center front zip fully and turn the parka inside out before washing. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle using a mild detergent. Do not bleach. Do not use fabric softener — it coats the WINDWALL™ fibers, the Non-PFC DWR finish, and the sheet insulation, reducing wind protection, water repellency, and loft.
Drying
Tumble dry LOW with 2-3 clean tennis balls to restore sheet insulation loft. Multiple low-heat cycles (1.5-2.5 hours) are normal for a 200g parka — must dry completely inside and out to prevent mildew. Avoid high heat which can damage the WINDWALL™ fabric, shrink the lining, and degrade the Non-PFC DWR.
DWR Refresh
When water stops beading on the WINDWALL™ body or lining, reproof with a spray-on DWR treatment (such as Nikwax TX Direct Spray-On) to restore water repellency on the 50D recycled polyester face + lining.
Insulation Care
200g of sheet insulation is heavy and can clump if not dried properly. If the fill looks flat after washing, tumble dry low with 2-3 clean tennis balls to break up clumps and restore loft. Multiple cycles may be needed for full restoration — the heavier the fill, the longer the dry time.
Hem Cinch-Cord
The 2-point internal cinch-cord lets you adjust front and back separately — period check that the cord locks are secure before wearing. Pull cords back into the hem channel when not in use to prevent snagging on car doors or backpacks.
High-Low Hem
The high-low hem design is intentional (longer in back for coverage, shorter in front for mobility) — don't trim or alter the hem length without expecting to lose this design feature.
Zipper Care
Periodically lubricate the center front zip and pocket zippers with a silicone-based lubricant. The zipper garage can collect debris — clean with a soft brush to prevent jamming.
Storage
Hang on a wide hanger or fold loosely. Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid long-term compression in a stuff sack — 200g of sheet insulation handles compression better than down, but loose storage extends the parka's life. Ensure fully dry before storing to prevent mildew.
