Summit Series Breithorn Series Pants
Summit Series Breithorn Series Pants
Summit Series · 800-Fill ProDown™ · FUTURELIGHT™ Reinforced Seams · Pertex® Y Fuse · RDS Down · 419 g · Stows in Thigh Pocket · Alpine Insulation

Adapted to the high alpine, the Summit Series Breithorn Pants serve as a flexible mid layer or uncompromising outer layer. With highly compressible, water-repellent 800-fill ProDown™ insulation, weather-resistant FUTURELIGHT™ overlays on the seat, knees, and cuffs, and articulated knees for mobility, they let you move lighter and faster through the mountains — or simply handle the daily cold with Summit-grade warmth.

Regular Fit with Layering Versatility
A regular fit is based on men's sizing and cut for wearing over a baselayer. For layering over a hardshell, size up; for a closer next-to-baselayer fit, size down. The pattern works equally well as a mid layer or standalone outer pant.
800-Fill ProDown™ Insulation
800-fill ProDown™ is premium natural goose down enhanced with a hydrophobic finish — the water-repellent treatment lets the down dry faster than untreated down if it gets wet, retaining loft and warmth in damp alpine conditions.
RDS-Certified Responsible Down
The ProDown™ insulation is Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certified by Control Union (CU 843098) — guarantees the down is sourced from farms that respect animal welfare and traceability from farm to finished product.
Pertex® Y Fuse Fabric
The 15D Pertex® Y Fuse shell increases the downproof and water-beading properties of the fabric — ultra-lightweight with a tight weave that holds down in place and shrugs off light moisture and snow.
FUTURELIGHT™ Reinforced Overlays
Targeted breathable-waterproof FUTURELIGHT™ overlays reinforce the seat, knees, and cuffs — the high-wear zones that take the brunt of sitting on wet snow, kneeling on ice, and contact with ski boots or crampons.
Non-PFC DWR Finish
A non-PFC durable water-repellent finish on both the Pertex® body and FUTURELIGHT™ overlays causes water to bead up and roll off — adds extra weather protection to the breathable-waterproof system.
100% Recycled Nylon Construction
Body fabric and overlay are both built from 100% recycled nylon — premium performance with a much lighter footprint on the planet, from the Pertex® shell to the FUTURELIGHT™ reinforcement panels.
Adjustable Internal-Drawcord Waistband
A waistband with internal drawcord lets you dial in a snug fit on the move — paired with encased-elastic at the back of the waistband for a comfortable, no-bind fit over a baselayer or harness.
Two-Way Zip-Fly with Snap Closure
A two-way zip-fly with snap-tab closure makes bathroom breaks easier over layers — no need to fully strip down the upper body to deal with the front closure.
Full-Length Side Zips
Full-length side access with two-way, water-resistant reverse-coil zips lets you vent from the top or bottom, pull the pants on over ski or mountaineering boots, and dump heat fast on steep climbs.
Water-Resistant Thigh Pocket
A thigh pocket with an exposed water-resistant reverse-coil zip keeps essentials accessible and dry — the high-thigh position sits clear of pack hip-belts and harness leg loops.
Stows in Thigh Pocket
The entire pant stuffs into its own thigh pocket — compresses to pack size for stashing in a climbing pack, ski touring pack, or carry-on for travel.
Articulated Knees
Articulated knees are pre-shaped for high-stepping, stemming, and lunging — no fabric bunching behind the knee when you're moving on technical terrain.
Encased-Elastic Cuffs with Snap Closure
Encased-elastic cuffs with a snap-tab closure seal the pants cleanly over or under boots — lock in warmth, seal out snow, and adjust the cuff diameter on the fly without removing gloves.

What's Included
In Box
1 × Summit Series Breithorn Series Pants

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a down-safe technical wash like Nikwax Down Wash or Granger's Down Wash — avoid regular detergent, which strips the natural oils from the 800-fill ProDown™ clusters and reduces loft.

Close all zippers before washing. Wash separately from heavily soiled items to protect the ultralight 15D Pertex® ripstop shell.

Tumble dry on low heat with two or three clean tennis balls or dryer balls — the balls break up clumps in the ProDown™ insulation and restore loft after washing. Drying thoroughly is essential to keep the down performing at its best and prevent mildew.

Do not bleach, do not use fabric softener, and do not use dryer sheets — all three can coat the ProDown™ fibers and degrade the loft, the hydrophobic down finish, and the non-PFC DWR treatment.

Do not iron, do not dry clean, and do not wring the pants when wet — wringing can permanently mat the ProDown™ insulation.

Re-apply a non-PFC DWR spray-on treatment (like Nikwax TX Direct or Granger's Performance Repel) after several washes to refresh the water-shedding performance of the Pertex® shell and FUTURELIGHT™ overlays.

Store the pants uncompressed in a cool, dry place when not in use — long-term compression in a stuff sack can reduce ProDown™ loft and overall warmth over time.
