Men's Open Range Fleece Long-Sleeve Shirt
Men's Open Range Fleece Long-Sleeve Shirt
Fleece · Lifestyle / Fall–Winter Layering

The Men's Open Range Fleece Long-Sleeve Shirt is perfect for the transition from fall to winter.

Relaxed Fit
Relaxed fit through the body for layering and unrestricted movement — roomy enough to wear over a baselayer or under a shell without binding, with enough length (CB 29") to tuck in cleanly or wear untucked over a belt
100% Recycled Polyester Fleece Body
258 g/m² 100% recycled polyester fleece body — the mid-weight fleece provides meaningful warmth for fall-to-winter wear without bulk; the recycled content diverts post-consumer plastic from landfill while delivering the same softness, durability, and warmth retention as virgin polyester fleece
Recycled Polyester Trim with Non-PFC DWR
Under-collar, placket, pocket flap, and cuffs use a lighter 132 g/m² 100% recycled polyester fabric with a non-PFC durable water-repellent finish — provides light water-shedding on the highest-exposure zones (collar standing up to drizzle, placket running down to block splashes, pocket flap protecting the chest pocket from rain and snow)
Two-Ply Collar
Two-ply collar — the double-layer construction gives the collar structure so it stands up cleanly without curling, and provides extra warmth and wind protection at the neck; the inside layer is the same DWR-treated recycled poly as the placket and cuff trim
Center Front Snap Placket
Center front snap placket — the snap closure is faster and easier than buttons in cold weather (especially with gloves), and snaps are more durable than buttons because they don't pull off like sewn buttons; the placket construction with the DWR-treated recycled poly face shields the chest from wind and water
Patch Chest Pocket
Patch chest pocket with a DWR-treated recycled poly flap — provides secure storage for a phone, small notebook, or sunglasses; the patch-on construction (rather than a zippered chest pocket) gives the shirt a heritage work-shirt look while still being functional
Cuffs with Snap-Tab Closures
Cuffs with snap-tab closures — let you adjust the wrist fit or roll the sleeves up to the forearm without losing the rolled position; the snap tabs are set on the DWR-treated recycled poly cuff fabric for a clean, finished look
External Locker Loop at Back Neckline
External locker loop at the back of the neckline — a heritage detail that lets you hang the shirt on a hook or peg without distorting the collar; also useful for hanging in a closet, gear locker, or on a pack for quick access
Embroidered Left-Chest Logo
Embroidered logo on the left chest — more durable than printed graphics through years of washing, and the tonal embroidery keeps the shirt's understated look while still showing the brand mark

Sustainability

Recycled Content
Body 100% recycled polyester; trim 100% recycled polyester
DWR Finish
Non-PFC DWR on trim fabric (no perfluorinated chemicals)
Washing
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors. Turn the shirt inside out before washing to protect the embroidered logo on the left chest from abrasion against other garments and zippers. Snap all snaps closed (center front placket and cuff tabs) before washing — open snaps can snag the 258 g/m² fleece body or the 132 g/m² trim fabric, and snagging pulls threads out of the snap placket or cuff seams. Use a mild technical cleaner such as Nikwax Tech Wash or Granger's Performance Wash. Do not use regular laundry detergent, bleach, fabric softener, or dry clean. Fabric softener coats the fleece fibers and reduces loft and breathability.
Drying
Tumble dry on low heat — synthetic fleece needs heat to fully restore loft after washing. A 20–30 minute tumble on low heat will dry the fleece completely and restore the pile texture. Do not line dry as the only drying method — line drying alone doesn't supply enough heat to restore fleece loft, and leaving damp fleece piled in a hamper promotes mildew. If line drying is the only option, tumble for at least 15 minutes on low heat afterward to restore the fleece's spring.
Non-PFC DWR Trim Care
The under-collar, placket, pocket flap, and cuffs are made from 132 g/m² 100% recycled polyester with a non-PFC DWR finish. The DWR is on the trim only, not the body fleece. DWR doesn't wash out with normal washing, but it wears off with use over time (typically 6–12 months of regular wear). When water stops beading on the trim fabric, re-treat with a spray-on DWR such as Nikwax TX Direct Spray-On or Granger's Performance Repel. Apply only to the DWR-treated trim zones (collar, placket, pocket flap, cuffs), not the body fleece.
Snap Care
The center front snap placket and the cuff snap-tab closures are the highest-wear closures on the shirt. Avoid forcing snaps closed — if a snap doesn't seat cleanly, work the placket or cuff fabric to align the snap halves rather than pressing harder. If a snap starts to come off the placket (the male or female side pulls away from the fabric), replace before the snap is lost — most tailors can re-set a snap inexpensively. The snaps should not need lubrication; if they become sticky, a tiny amount of zipper lubricant on a cotton swab clears any buildup.
Patch Pocket Care
The patch chest pocket has a DWR-treated recycled poly flap. Avoid overstuffing the pocket — the patch-on construction is sewn at the top and side seams, and heavy contents (a thick wallet, a full phone with a case) can stretch the seams or pull the patch away from the body fabric. If the pocket flap stays lifted or doesn't lie flat, gently hand-press it back into shape while the shirt is still slightly damp.
Locker Loop Care
The external locker loop at the back of the neckline is a small but useful detail. Inspect the stitching periodically — the loop is the highest-stress point on the collar and the stitching can loosen with repeated hanging. If the loop pulls away from the collar, repair before it tears the collar fabric. The locker loop is also a convenient spot to clip a small carabiner for hanging the shirt on a pack or in a gear locker.
Pilling Prevention
Mid-weight fleece (258 g/m²) is moderately resistant to pilling but can pill at high-friction zones (under pack straps, under arms, where a seatbelt crosses the chest, where the chest pocket rubs). Wash inside out to minimize external abrasion. Use a fabric shaver or sweater comb periodically to remove pilling — this restores the smooth face without damaging the underlying fibers. Pilling is a normal characteristic of fleece, not a defect; removing it regularly extends the garment's appearance life.
Embroidered Logo Care
The embroidered logo on the left chest is durable but the embroidery thread can be damaged by high heat. Wash inside out to protect the embroidery from abrasion against other garments, zippers, and buttons. Avoid ironing directly over the embroidery — if ironing is needed, iron from the inside and place a cloth between the iron and the embroidery. The polyester embroidery thread can melt at high iron temperatures. Do not bleach or use chlorine-based cleaners — these break down the embroidery thread over time.
Storage
Store clean and fully dry in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Fold rather than hang — hanging on a regular hanger can stretch the shoulder seams and distort the neckline over time. If hanging is the only option, use a wide padded hanger to distribute the weight. Cedar blocks or lavender sachets in the storage area deter moths without leaving a strong scent on the recycled polyester fleece. Snap all snaps closed before storing to keep the placket from creasing.
