Built for cold days and colder destinations, the Men's McMurdo Bomber delivers expedition-inspired warmth in a shorter silhouette. Named after McMurdo Station in Antarctica, this jacket is equipped with the windproof and waterproof protection you need to tackle winter's worst. 600-fill recycled waterfowl down provides serious loft for sub-freezing temperatures, while the DryVent™ 2L shell sheds snow, sleet, and freezing rain. The removable faux-fur ruff, ribbed cuffs and hem, and bomber-length cut give it the iconic parka look reimagined for everyday winter wear.
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild technical wash — close the two-way center front zip, secure all hook-and-loop closures, and remove the faux-fur ruff before washing.
Turn the jacket inside-out before washing to protect the DryVent™ 2L face fabric, the patch chest pocket flaps, and the rib cuffs + hem.
Tumble dry on low heat for 20-30 minutes to reactivate the non-PFC DWR finish — heat is essential to keep water beading on the surface rather than saturating the DryVent™ 2L shell.
Toss in two or three clean tennis balls or dryer balls to break up any clumps in the 600-fill recycled waterfowl down and restore loft after washing. Drying thoroughly is essential to keep the down performing at its best.
Do not bleach, do not use fabric softener, and do not use dryer sheets — all three can coat the DryVent™ 2L membrane and the 600-fill recycled down fibers, degrading the waterproof + breathable performance and the down's loft and warmth.
Do not iron, do not dry clean, and do not wring the jacket when wet — wringing can damage the DryVent™ membrane bond, the seam-sealing tape at stress points, and the rib cuffs + hem.
Hand wash the removable faux-fur ruff separately in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not put it in the dryer — lay flat to dry to preserve the fur texture and prevent matting.
Re-apply a non-PFC DWR spray-on treatment (like Nikwax TX Direct or Granger's Performance Repel) after several washes to refresh the water-shedding performance of the DryVent™ 2L shell.
Inspect the seam tape (especially at the shoulders, hood, and zip flaps) periodically for lifting or peeling — small issues can be repaired with a seam-seal repair kit (like Gear Aid Seam Grip + WP5) before they become leaks.
Brush the rib cuffs and hem gently with a soft-bristle brush after washing to remove surface lint and pet hair.
Store the jacket hanging on a wide hanger in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Avoid long-term compression in a stuff sack, which can damage the DryVent™ membrane and reduce the down's loft.
