Men's Beta Cargo Pant
Pant · Outdoor / Cargo

Built for the kind of days that start with a trail and end wherever — the Men's Beta Cargo Pant delivers the relaxed fit, durable cotton canvas, and cargo-carry capacity you need for backcountry work, weekend trips, or daily wear. Made with Climate Conscious Cotton from farmers using practices that help build soil carbon, the 290 g/m² canvas stands up to heavy use while the relaxed silhouette keeps you comfortable all day.

Relaxed Fit
Relaxed fit through the seat and thighs provides extra room for kneeling, climbing, and layering over baselayers — comfortable for full days of active use
Climate Conscious Cotton Canvas
Body fabric is 290 g/m² 100% Climate Conscious Cotton — grown by farmers using practices that help build soil carbon, reducing environmental impact without sacrificing the durability and comfort of a natural fiber
Waistband with Belt Loops & Gear Loop
Waistband with standard belt loops + a dedicated gear loop at center back — lets you clip a carabiner, GPS unit, or tool without adding bulk at the hip
Zip-Fly with Shank-Button Closure
Zip-fly with a shank-button closure at the waist — more secure and cleaner-looking than a standard fly, stays fastened during high-output movement
Overlapping Front Pleats
Overlapping front pleats add visual interest and give the pant natural volume through the thighs — allows unrestricted movement without the look of a true loose fit
Pleats at Knees
Pleats at the knees create extra volume where you need it most during a full stride — the cargo pant construction detail that actually improves range of motion
Open Hand Pockets
Open hand pockets — deep and accessible for everyday carry items, phone, or cold hands; the simplest and most comfortable pocket type for daily wear
Two Drop-In Back Pockets
Two drop-in back pockets — one on each side, sized for a wallet or phone; the drop-in construction keeps contents secure without the bulk of a button-flap
Two Bellowed Cargo Pockets with Snap-Flap
Two bellowed cargo pockets — one on each thigh, sized to hold maps, snacks, gloves, or a phone; closed with a snap-flap that opens and closes quickly under gloves
Inner-Leg Gussets
Inner-leg gussets eliminate bunching and tearing in the high-stress crotch area — extends the life of the pant significantly for anyone with an active stride
Embroidered Logo
Embroidered logo on the left cargo pocket — tonal, durable branding that doesn't peel or crack over time

Sustainability Rating
Good: 25%–49% Recycled or Sustainable Materials
Washing
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors. Use a mild detergent — avoid bleach, fabric softener, and dryer sheets as they degrade natural cotton fibers and the canvas structure over time. Do not dry clean — solvents strip natural oils from cotton and damage the canvas.
Drying
Tumble dry on low or hang dry per the care label. The 290 g/m² cotton canvas is heavyweight and can hold moisture — a full low-heat cycle is usually needed. Reshape while damp. Avoid high heat — it weakens cotton fibers and can cause shrinkage. Over-drying in a hot dryer is the most common cause of premature canvas breakdown.
Cotton Canvas Care
Cotton canvas is a woven natural fiber — durable and breathable but more susceptible to abrasion and moisture than synthetic fabrics. The 290 g/m² weight is mid-to-heavyweight, so it takes more wash cycles to show wear than lighter canvas. The cotton will soften slightly with each wash while maintaining its structure. If the canvas feels stiff after a wash, a few minutes in a warm (not hot) dryer or air drying in sun restores some stiffness.
Shrinkage
Cotton shrinks if washed in hot water or dried on high heat. The first few washes are the highest-risk — always wash cold and dry low to minimize shrinkage. Expect ~2–3% shrinkage on first wash if the fabric hasn't been pre-shrunk, which is typical for cotton canvas. If you need exact inseam length after washing, the 32" R inseam will settle to ~31" after first wash/dry.
Inner-Leg Gusset Care
The inner-leg gussets eliminate bunching in the crotch area but create additional seam lines. Check the gusset seams periodically — they take more stress than a standard inseam during climbing, kneeling, or squatting. If you notice fraying at the gusset corners, repair with a bar-tack stitch or take to a tailor before the seam fails completely.
Cargo Pocket Care
The bellowed cargo pockets with snap-flap closures add volume and capacity but the bellowed construction can trap debris (sand, dirt, trail dust). Turn pockets inside-out periodically and shake out debris before washing — left un-checked, debris in the bellows wears through the 128 g/m² cotton pocket bags faster than the 290 g/m² shell. The snap-flaps are durable but can bend if the pocket is stuffed aggressively; gently reshape snaps with pliers if they start to misalign.
Gear Loop Care
The center-back gear loop is designed for clipped accessories — a carabiner, GPS unit, or small tool. Don't clip heavy loads to it — the loop is reinforced but the waistband seam underneath takes the load. It's designed for accessories, not for bearing body weight or heavy gear loads. A broken gear loop usually means the seam at the waistband is also compromised.
Overlapping Front Pleat Care
The overlapping front pleats are a construction detail, not a separate piece of fabric — they're cut and sewn into the pant front panel. They won't unravel but the pleat lines can flatten over time with washing. Hang dry or tumble dry low to maintain the crispness of the pleats. Ironing on medium heat with steam restores the pleat definition if they start to smooth out.
Knee Pleat Care
The pleats at the knees function similarly to the front pleats — they're sewn into the pattern. Kneeling on rough surfaces accelerates wear at the knee pleats more than any other part of the pant. If you regularly kneel on rock, concrete, or gravel, the knee area is the first to show abrasion. Consider a separate pair of knee pads for work tasks to extend the life of these pants.
Storage (Off-Season)
Store in a cool, dry place — hanging is preferred to preserve the relaxed fit and the pleat construction. The 290 g/m² cotton canvas holds its shape well when hung. Don't leave crumpled in a damp bag — cotton canvas retains moisture and can develop mildew in as little as 24–48 hours in a damp environment. If the pants get soaked on a trip, hang dry at the first opportunity.
