Its regular fit is designed to help give you room to move without additional bulk—which makes it an easy layering piece. Windproof Front Panel — 0 CFM Rating
Non-PFC DWR and windproof front panel (0 CFM Rating) to help protect from the elements — the 0 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) rating is the technical measure of air permeability through a fabric, where 0 CFM means zero air passes through. Total wind block at the chest's leading edge where the body faces the wind on a run, a hike, or a commute. The 0 CFM rating is the strictest windproof standard in technical outerwear, and it means the wind chill effect at the chest is eliminated regardless of how cold or how hard the wind blows.
50% Recycled Wool Insulation
Using our proprietary 50% recycled wool insulation — Smartloft™ technology wraps soft Merino fiber around a recycled wool core (50% Recycled Wool/Reprocessed Wool, 38% Wool, 12% Polyester in the fill). The recycled wool insulation delivers active warmth without the bulk of a heavier parka; the proprietary blend is structured for repeated wear and washing; the Merino content in the fiber wrap contributes natural odor resistance across multi-day wear. The insulation is tuned for active cold-weather use — warm enough for a cold morning run, light enough for the return commute.
Four-Way Stretch At Mobility Zones
Four-way stretch knit fabric puts soft-brushed Merino paneled in at key mobility zones — the main body uses the same 54% Recycled Polyester / 38% Merino Wool / 8% Elastane knit as the Active Fleece Jacket (SW003259) and Wind Tight (SW003179). The four-way stretch moves with the body through running, hiking, and commuting movement without the binding a less-stretchy fleece would create at the shoulder or chest.
COOLMAX® ECOMADE Lining — Moisture Management
The lining incorporates COOLMAX® ECOMADE Recycled Polyester — a moisture-management technology engineered to wick sweat away from the skin and dry faster than standard polyester. The 31.5% COOLMAX® ECOMADE content (combined with 32.5% Polyester, 31% Merino Wool, 5% Elastane in the lining) creates a four-fiber blend that handles the sweat the body generates during high-output activity. COOLMAX® ECOMADE is made from recycled resources, keeping the moisture-management performance with a lower material footprint.
Merino Blend Lining — Next-To-Skin Comfort
The lining is 31% Merino Wool — the Merino content in the lining delivers natural odor resistance and softness against the skin or against a base layer. The four-fiber lining blend (Polyester + COOLMAX® ECOMADE + Merino + Elastane) balances the COOLMAX® moisture management, the Merino's natural performance, the structural integrity of the polyester, and the stretch of the elastane. The result is a lining that handles high-sweat activity without the clammy chill a pure synthetic would develop.
Non-PFC DWR Treatment
Non-PFC DWR and windproof front panel (0 CFM Rating) to help protect from the elements — the recycled nylon overlay on the front panel is treated with a non-PFC DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish that sheds light snow and light rain. The non-PFC chemistry (no perfluorinated chemicals) delivers the water-shedding performance with a lower environmental impact than traditional PFC-based DWR treatments.
TENCEL™ Lyocell Trim
Trim: 53% Wool-Merino, 47% Lyocell — the trim pieces use the same Merino-TENCEL Lyocell blend philosophy as the Active Ultralite Tee (SW016544). The trim doesn't need the windproof construction of the main body or the moisture management of the lining; the Merino-TENCEL blend delivers the natural softness and moisture management that the trim's role requires.
Two Secure External Pockets
Two secure external pockets — hand pockets sized for a phone, a key, or a pair of liner gloves. The pockets are placed for easy access without interfering with a pack's hip belt or a hydration vest. The pocket bags are lined with 100% Recycled Polyester for durability and structure.
Reflective Elements For Low-Light Visibility
Reflective elements — placed where they catch headlights from multiple angles for early-morning runs, sunset trail sessions, and after-work commuting when the daylight fades. The reflective trim is integrated into the design without breaking the vest's clean silhouette.
Sleeveless Core Warmth For Active Output
Vest silhouette is sleeveless for a reason — the core (where the body generates the most heat) stays warm with the windproof front panel and the recycled wool insulation, while the arms are free to move without restriction and to dump heat during high-output activity. The right silhouette for high-output cold-weather use where a full jacket would overheat the upper body but a base layer alone would chill the chest in the wind.
Regular Fit With Room To Layer
Our regular fit is intended to help give you room to move without additional bulk — roomier than a slim-fit insulation piece but not boxy. The cut leaves space for a base layer underneath without the binding a tight athletic fit would create at the chest and shoulder. The vest layers cleanly under a shell for the coldest days and works on its own for cold-weather runs, hikes, and commutes in moderate cold.

Washing
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Wash with like colors — the multi-fabric construction (windproof nylon overlay, four-way stretch knit, COOLMAX® ECOMADE Merino-blend lining, Smartloft™ recycled wool insulation, TENCEL™ Lyocell trim) benefits from isolated washing to protect each component's performance. Cold water protects the Merino fibers, the elastane recovery, and the non-PFC DWR treatment. Use a mild, technical wash; avoid fabric softeners (they coat the Merino fibers and reduce natural moisture management, and they can degrade the non-PFC DWR treatment, the COOLMAX® moisture-wicking performance, and the elastane's stretch recovery).
Drying
Tumble dry low. The multi-fabric construction and the Smartloft™ recycled wool insulation tolerate low-heat tumble drying without distorting the vest's structure — low heat re-fluffs the recycled wool fill, restores the loft of the four-way stretch knit, and helps maintain the non-PFC DWR treatment's water-shedding performance over time. Do not tumble dry on medium or high heat; high heat can shrink the wool fill, damage the non-PFC DWR, degrade the COOLMAX® moisture-management, and distort the 0 CFM windproof front panel.
Bleach & Iron
Do not bleach. Cool iron as needed — do not iron decoration. Bleach breaks down Merino wool fibers and degrades the elastane in the four-way stretch zones and the COOLMAX® ECOMADE moisture-management performance. Iron only on low heat and only on the non-decorated fabric areas; high heat can scorch the Merino blend lining and damage the non-PFC DWR treatment on the windproof front panel.
Dry Cleaning
Do not dry clean. The harsh solvents used in commercial dry cleaning strip the natural lanolin from Merino, degrade the recycled wool insulation's loft retention, and degrade the COOLMAX® ECOMADE moisture-management performance — all of which are core to the vest's performance.
Storage
Store folded or hung in a dry, breathable space. Merino's natural odor resistance means the vest stays fresh across multiple workouts between washes, which extends the fabric's lifespan. Hanging is acceptable for this piece because the Smartloft™ recycled wool insulation is structured rather than loose-fill (unlike the Winterloft™ Hooded Parka's down fill, which should NOT be stored compressed). Hanging won't distort the recycled wool fill the way it would distort a down parka's loft.
