The interior face runs a brushed Merino-recycled-polyester-elastane blend (38% Merino in the main body) that traps body heat and manages moisture against the skin; the exterior face is a recycled synthetic knit that handles abrasion and shape retention on the outer surface. The two faces are knit as one fabric rather than layered separately — no separate liner pulled over a shell, no bunched layers between them, no cold spots where air gets between the layers. (Note: this is the same construction as the SW003259 Men’s Active Fleece Jacket in this family — both rely on the same two-face Merino-interior/recycled-synthetic-exterior knit.)

Soft-brushed Merino blend next to skin (38% Merino Wool in the main body) delivers the natural temperature regulation and odor resistance Merino is known for — the jacket stays comfortable across the cold-to-warm swings of a long cold-weather workout without the clammy chill a pure synthetic would develop when you stop moving. Merino’s natural odor resistance means the jacket stays fresh across multi-workout days between washes.

The recycled synthetic exterior handles the abrasion and shape retention the jacket’s outer surface sees — pack-strap contact on a backcountry day, repeated wear under a shell, the rough use a mid-layer takes as a daily training piece. The 54% Recycled Polyester in the main body keeps the durability performance with a lower-impact material choice than virgin synthetic.

Four-way stretch knit fabric supports active movement — the stretch is knit into the fabric itself rather than added as spandex panels at the side seams. The four-way stretch moves with the body through running, climbing, skiing, and training movement without the binding a less-stretchy fleece would create at the shoulder or elbow. The fabric recovers its shape after the movement stops, so the jacket doesn’t bag out at the elbows or sag at the hem over time.

Thumbholes at cuffs lock the sleeve in place over the hand during high-output movement — the sleeve stays put when reaching overhead, swinging an arm, or pulling on a shell over the jacket, rather than riding up the forearm and exposing the wrist. The thumbholes also seal the sleeve-to-glove transition when worn under a shell or with a glove, eliminating the cold-air gap at the wrist that bare-cuff mid-layers develop on cold descents.

Two secure hand pockets can store essentials while you’re on the go — a phone, a key, a card, or a pair of liner gloves stay secure without the risk of bouncing out on a run or a hike. The pockets are lined (100% Recycled Polyester pocket bag) for hand-warming comfort and positioned for easy access without interfering with a pack’s hip belt or a harness.

Reflective elements help make sure you’re seen in low light — early-morning winter runs, sunset commutes, and after-work training sessions when the daylight fades. The reflective trim is placed where it catches headlights from multiple angles without breaking the jacket’s clean silhouette.

Our slim fit is intended to give a women’s-specific cut with room to move without additional bulk. Slimmer than the men’s regular-fit equivalent (the SW003259 Men’s Active Fleece Jacket in this family), but not compression-tight — the cut leaves space for a base layer underneath without the binding a tight athletic fit would create at the chest and shoulder. Layers cleanly under a shell or a ski jacket without the bulk an oversized fleece would create; works on its own for cold-weather training in milder conditions.
