We collabed with Arbor Collective pro snowboarder Bryan Iguchi to create a hoodie that balances warmth and movement—with a 50% recycled wool insulation and a four-way stretch fabric paneled in key mobility zones. A wind-resistant, non-PFC DWR front panel helps block the elements while a Merino blend interior lining adds extra coziness.
Bryan Iguchi x Arbor Collective Collab
The hoodie is a collaboration with Arbor Collective pro snowboarder Bryan Iguchi — the construction is shaped by the demands of a working pro snowboarder’s cold-weather use (high-output riding, lift-served days, sidecountry hiking, and the long drives between resorts). The collab positioning is built into the design decisions: the four-way stretch paneled in mobility zones (the under-arm gusset, the elbows, the shoulders) handles the range of motion a snowboard-specific stance demands, while the front panel handles the wind chill a chairlift creates across the chest. The Iguchi collab is the third Smartloft product in the family — joining the SW003204 Smartloft Hybrid Jacket and the SW003177 Smartloft Cropped Jacket, both of which use a similar recycled wool fill philosophy.
50% Recycled Wool Insulation
The fill is 50% Recycled Wool/Reprocessed Wool, 38% Wool, 12% Polyester — the same recycled wool blend philosophy as the SW003204 Smartloft Hybrid Jacket in this family. The 50% recycled wool content keeps the warmth performance with a lower-impact material choice than virgin wool alone, while the 38% virgin wool maintains the natural loft and temperature regulation that pure recycled wool can’t fully deliver. The 12% Polyester adds structural stability to the fill so the wool doesn’t shift or clump inside the hoodie’s baffles across long-term use. The Smartloft insulation is the family’s signature fill technology — the structured recycled wool fill that handles moisture better than pure down while delivering comparable warmth-to-weight.
Merino-Blend Interior Lining
The interior lining is 56% Merino Wool / 44% Recycled Polyester — a soft-brushed Merino-blend knit that runs against the skin and adds the cozy next-to-skin feel the description calls out as “extra coziness.” The 56% Merino is the same lining Merino level used in the SW003167 Men’s Winterloft Vest collar/pocket lining in this family. Merino’s natural temperature regulation handles the cold-to-warm swings of high-output activity (going from cold chairlift rides to high-output descents), and Merino’s natural odor resistance means the hoodie stays fresh across multi-day resort trips between washes.
Four-Way Stretch Paneled In Mobility Zones
Four-way stretch knit fabric (Main Body: 54% Recycled Polyester, 38% Merino Wool, 8% Elastane) is paneled specifically in the key mobility zones — the under-arm gusset, the elbows, the shoulders — the areas that need the most range of motion for a snowboard-specific stance. The stretch is knit into the fabric itself rather than added as spandex panels at the side seams. The four-way stretch moves with the body through reaching, swinging, and the binding-adjust stance that snowboard riding demands. The 8% Elastane is the same stretch level used in the SW003259 Men’s Active Fleece Jacket in this family.
Wind-Resistant Non-PFC DWR Front Panel
A wind-resistant front panel with a non-PFC Durable Water Repellent finish helps block the elements across the chest — the front panel uses a 100% Recycled Polyester overlay that handles the wind chill a chairlift or sidecountry ridge creates across the front of the torso. The non-PFC DWR formulation sheds light precipitation (mist, freezing drizzle, wet snow) without the persistent fluorinated compounds that don’t break down in the environment. The front panel’s wind resistance is targeted (not full-jacket) so the rest of the hoodie retains the four-way stretch’s full breathability for the high-output descents.
100% Recycled Polyester Overlay
The front panel overlay is 100% Recycled Polyester — the structural reinforcement layer behind the DWR finish that handles the wind-blocking and the abrasion from pack-strap contact on a sidecountry hike. The recycled polyester content keeps the durability performance with a lower-impact material choice than virgin polyester. The overlay is bonded to the main body fabric in the front-panel zone rather than added as a separate patch.
Pocket Construction With Stretch Recovery
The pockets are 73% Recycled Polyester / 27% Elastane — a high-stretch pocket construction that handles the deep reach a snowboard-specific stance requires (the forward-leaning posture that pulls at pocket openings). The 27% Elastane content is significantly higher than the body fabric’s 8% — the pockets need more stretch recovery than the body because they’re constantly being pulled open and stretched during the forward-leaning stance. The recycled polyester content keeps the pocket’s durability performance with a lower-impact material choice.
1/2 Zip Front With Hood
The 1/2 zip front allows venting on the uphills and full coverage on the chairlift — the zipper pulls down for high-output climbs and back up for the cold chairlift ride. The hood adds the head coverage that the vest’s silhouette can’t deliver, sealing in warmth across the head and neck for colder chairlift moments or windy ridge walks. The 1/2 zip + hood combination is the right tool for stop-and-go snowboard use where the body’s heat output fluctuates rapidly between the cold chairlift and the high-output descent.

Washing
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Wash with like colors — the Merino-blend interior lining benefits from isolated washing to protect the fabric’s moisture-management properties. Cold water protects the elastane recovery, the recycled wool fill’s fiber integrity, and the Merino fibers in the lining. Use a mild, technical wash; avoid fabric softeners (they coat the Merino fibers and reduce natural moisture management, and can interfere with the recycled wool fill’s loft).
Drying
Dry flat. The five-component construction (Main Body knit + Front Overlay + Recycled Wool Fill + Merino-Blend Lining + Stretch Pockets) and the four-way stretch knit retain their structure best when laid flat to dry — tumble heat can delaminate the front panel overlay, flatten the recycled wool fill’s loft, shrink the Merino fibers in the lining, and damage the elastane’s compression recovery. Lay flat on a clean towel away from direct heat. (Note: this is the same dry-flat spec used across the Smartloft sub-line in this family — the SW003204 Smartloft Hybrid Jacket and the SW003177 Smartloft Cropped Jacket both require dry flat. This differs from the SW003167 Men’s Winterloft Vest which allows tumble dry low because that garment’s down fill needs tumble heat with agitation to restore loft; the Smartloft’s structured recycled wool fill is sensitive to tumble heat in a way down is not.)
Bleach & Iron
Do not bleach. Cool iron as needed — do not iron decoration. Bleach breaks down Merino wool fibers in the lining, degrades the recycled wool fill’s fibers, and damages the elastane in the main body and pockets. Iron only on low heat and only on the non-decorated fabric areas; high heat can scorch the Merino-blend interior lining, melt the front panel’s recycled polyester overlay, and damage the four-way stretch recovery in the mobility zones.
Dry Cleaning
Do not dry clean. The harsh solvents used in commercial dry cleaning strip the natural lanolin from Merino (both in the main body 38% Merino and in the lining 56% Merino), degrade the recycled wool fill’s fiber integrity, and damage the front panel’s non-PFC DWR finish. The dry cleaning prohibition is especially important for this garment because of the multi-component construction — five different fabric blends each respond differently to solvent-based cleaning.
Storage
Store folded in a dry, breathable space. Merino’s natural odor resistance means the hoodie stays fresh across multi-day resort trips between washes, which extends the fabric’s lifespan. Folded storage preserves the four-way stretch in the mobility zones and the recycled wool fill’s loft; hanging for long periods can stretch the elastane out of the articulation zones at the shoulder and elbow. The five-component construction benefits from folded storage more than hanging — hanging can distort the different fabric weights differently across the garment.
