Looks like a shirt, performs like a jacket — the brushed wool fleece construction delivers the warmth and weather resistance of a jacket with the casual silhouette and plaid pattern of a shirt. The snap-button closures, snap-button chest pockets, and back-hem vent all read as shirt styling, but the brushed wool fleece fabric and the wool-heavy blend deliver real three-season performance for outdoor use. The right piece when a technical shell is overkill and a casual flannel isn't warm enough.
80% Merino Wool — High Merino Content For A Lifestyle Piece
Starts with 80% Merino wool (79% Merino Wool, 20% Nylon, 1% Other Fibers in the shell) so it can fend off all sorts of harsh conditions. The 80% Merino content is unusually high for a lifestyle shirt-jacket — most flannel-style pieces use cotton or a cotton-synthetic blend. The Merino delivers the natural temperature regulation and odor resistance that pure cotton can't match; the nylon adds the abrasion toughness and shape retention that pure Merino can't match in a heavier-weight lifestyle piece.
Brushed Wool Fleece Construction
Brushed wool fleece is super soft and versatile — the wool fleece is brushed on the inside for a soft, lofted hand-feel against the skin or over a base layer, and a tighter weave on the outside for weather resistance and shape. The brushed interior traps warm air without the bulk of a structured insulation layer; the tighter exterior sheds light wind and resists abrasion from pack straps or everyday wear.
Snap-Button Closures — Center Front & Cuffs
Snap-button closures at center front and cuffs — the snaps read as shirt styling but function like a jacket's zipper or buttons. The snaps are easy to operate one-handed (cold hands, gloved hands), faster than buttons, and more secure than a magnet closure in wind. The cuff snaps adjust the sleeve opening for venting or sealing out cold on the wrist.
Two Snap-Button Chest Pockets
Two secure chest pockets add function to the form — snap-button closures keep essentials (phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses) secure without the bounce or risk of drop a standard open chest pocket has. The pockets are placed at the chest where a pack's hip belt or a harness doesn't conflict with access, and they're sized for everyday carry rather than technical gear storage.
Back Hem Vent
Vent at back hem — a small vent at the back hem increases mobility and adds breathability at the lower back where the shirt-jacket can bunch when seated or bent. The vent also makes the shirt-jacket easier to layer over a base layer or under a shell without the binding a closed-hem piece would create at the waist.
Regular Fit With Room To Layer
Our regular fit is intended to help give you room to move without additional bulk. Roomier than a slim-fit technical piece but not boxy — the cut leaves space for a base layer or a light mid-layer underneath without the binding a tight athletic fit would create at the chest and shoulder. The cut also works on its own over a tee for milder weather.

Cleaning
Dry Clean Only. Do Not Wash. The brushed wool fleece construction with snap-button closures and tailored shirt-jacket styling requires dry cleaning — the structured fleece, the wool-nylon blend, the snap-button hardware, and the back-hem vent do not tolerate machine washing or hand washing. Machine washing will shrink the wool fibers, distort the brushed fleece loft, damage the snap closures, and ruin the tailored fit. This is the only piece in this product family that explicitly requires dry cleaning; the heavyweight base layers, mid-layers, and active pieces in the family are designed to be machine washed. Take this piece to a professional dry cleaner that handles wool garments.
Bleach & Tumble Dry
Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Bleach breaks down Merino wool fibers and degrades the nylon component of the shell. Tumble drying will shrink the wool, distort the brushed fleece construction, and damage the snap-button closures. Both bleach and tumble dry are incompatible with the dry-clean-only care requirement.
Ironing
Cool iron as needed — do not iron decoration. Iron only on low heat and only on the non-decorated fabric areas. The brushed wool fleece tolerates light ironing to restore the fabric's flat appearance after dry cleaning; high heat can scorch the Merino fibers and flatten the brushed interior loft. Do not iron directly on the snap-button closures or the back-hem vent area.
Storage
Store on a wide wooden or padded hanger in a dry, breathable space. Merino's natural odor resistance means the shirt-jacket covers multiple wear days between cleanings, which extends the fabric's lifespan and reduces the cleaning frequency. Hanging on a wide hanger preserves the shoulder structure and the shirt-jacket silhouette; thin wire hangers will distort the shoulders. Use a breathable garment bag for long-term storage to protect against dust and moths without trapping moisture.
