Pocket Towel
Pocket Towel
Microfibre Quick-Dry Towel · 4 Sizes · 100% Recycled Polyester

Our Pocket Towel really does fit in a jacket pocket—so you can always have it on hand for last-minute trips to the gym or a lightweight backpacking adventure. Made of silky-to-touch recycled polyester microfiber, it absorbs three times its weight in water and dries remarkably fast.

100% Recycled Polyester Microfibre
Made of silky-to-touch DRY+ fabric — 100% recycled polyester microfiber with the silkiest finish in Sea to Summit's towel line. Higher recycled content than the DryLite/Tek Towels (which are 80/20 recycled poly/nylon blends), and a noticeably softer next-to-skin feel.
Absorbs 3× Its Weight in Water
Absorbs three times its weight in water, then dries remarkably fast — the knitted microfiber construction wicks water off skin faster than a flat-weave towel, and the tightly-knit fabric releases moisture to the air as soon as you hang it.
4 Sizes (S / M / L / XL)
Four sizes — Small (jacket pocket, gym bag), Medium (face/hands, ultralight backpacker), Large (full-body quick-dry for camp), XL (full-body beach-sized quick-dry). Each packs smaller than a deck of cards to a fist-sized ball.
Machine Washable
Machine washable — wash separately first, the towel is not color-fast dyed (until it's been washed once or twice, the dye may bleed onto other laundry). After 2-3 washes the color sets and can be washed with similar colors.
Soft Zippered EVA Case
Comes in a soft, zippered EVA case — the case is stiffer than a typical mesh stuff sack, so it protects the towel in your pack and the zip closure prevents it from unrolling mid-transit. Doubles as a small utility pouch when the towel is in use.
Hang Loop with Snap Closure
All towel sizes have a loop with a snap closure — hang it on a hook or over a line for fast drying between uses. The snap keeps the loop flat against the towel in the stuff sack so it doesn't catch on other items in your pack.

Sister Products

Wash Separately the First 2-3 Times
Wash separately for the first 2-3 washes — the towel is not color-fast dyed until it's been washed a few times (the dye can bleed onto other laundry). After 2-3 washes the color sets and you can wash with similar colors. Use a mild detergent (like Nikwax Tech Wash) without fabric softeners.
Avoid Fabric Softener & Dryer Sheets
Skip the fabric softener and dryer sheets — they coat the microfiber and reduce absorbency. The fabric softener leaves a waxy film on the polyester fibers that blocks the wicking action, making the towel feel water-resistant instead of absorbent. A few drops of white vinegar in the rinse cycle restores absorbency if softener is accidentally used.
Machine Wash Cold, Gentle Cycle
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle — hot water can damage the snap closure and the knit structure of the microfiber. Tumble dry low or, better, hang dry (the towel dries remarkably fast on a line, often in 30-60 minutes in dry climates).
Hang Dry Between Uses to Prevent Mildew
After each use, hang the towel to dry using the snap-closure loop — the towel is not chemically anti-microbial, so it relies on fast drying to stay fresh. Don't ball it up wet in a stuff sack; that traps moisture and creates mildew in the knit. Hang it on a line, pack strap, or branch.
Don't Bleach or Iron
Skip chlorine bleach and don't iron — bleach yellows the microfiber and breaks down the knit, and a hot iron can melt the polyester fibers (synthetic microfiber has a low melting point, around 150°C / 300°F). For stains, spot-treat with mild soap and cold water.
Safe for Technical Fabrics (with Wilderness Wash)
The microfiber towel can also be used to clean wool base layers and technical fabrics with DWR finishes — won't harm the wool or degrade the DWR. Just rinse the towel well after using it with soap, so the residue doesn't transfer to gear on the next use.
Store Dry, Loosely Folded
Store the towel fully dry, loosely folded in the zippered EVA case — packing it in the stuff sack while still damp leads to mildew and odor. The EVA case is breathable enough for short-term storage but not for wet storage; air it out weekly if you keep the towel in a pack long-term.
Snip Snags, Don't Pull
If the microfiber develops a snag, snip it flush with sharp scissors instead of pulling — pulling unravels the knit and creates a run. The polyester microfiber resists snagging in normal use, but rough surfaces (Velcro, seatbelt webbing, drag against carabiners) can pull loops.
