Lightweight Dry Bag View
Lightweight Dry Bag View
Waterproof Storage with Clear Window · 3 Sizes · 5L–13L

The Lightweight Dry Bag View is a waterproof storage bag with a clear viewing window. Available in three sizes for solo and group packing, it works alongside the standard Lightweight Dry Bag line for situations where seeing contents matters as much as protecting them.

Clear TPU Viewing Window
Clear TPU window panel on one side of the bag — see contents at a glance without opening the bag, perfect for groups sharing common gear, sorting food and smellables for a bear hang, or finding a specific item in a stuffed pack. Same TPU construction as the rest of the Sea to Summit dry bag line.
10000mm Hydrostatic Head (Body)
Body of the dry bag is waterproof with a 10000mm hydrostatic head — fully taped and double-stitched seams keep water out in rain, splashes, and brief submersions. Same waterproof performance as the standard Lightweight Dry Bag. The roll-top is not 100% sealed (no dry bag truly is), so avoid extended submersion.
Roll-Top Closure + Field Repair Buckle
Waterproof, roll-top closure secured with the patented Field Repair Buckle for a reliable seal — fold the top down 3-4 times, clip the buckle, and water stays out. The Field Repair Buckle is field-replaceable if it ever breaks, and the same buckle design is used across the entire dry bag line.
Double-Stitched + Fully Tapped Seams
Double-stitched and fully taped waterproof seams — the strongest seam construction in the Sea to Summit dry bag line, designed to hold up to years of stuffing, pulling, and rough handling. No seam failure under normal use.
3 Sizes: 5L / 8L / 13L
Three sizes cover packing and sharing needs — 5L for a first-aid kit or shared electronics, 8L for a day of paddling, 13L for a larger shared kit. The mid-size range covers the most common View Dry Bag use cases.
Oval Base (NEW for 2024+)
Oval base prevents the dry bag from rolling away on sloping surfaces — and packs better in flat-bottomed packs and duffels. Same oval base as the standard Lightweight Dry Bag (2024+ design).
White Interior for Visibility
Light reflecting white interior on the non-window sides — works with the TPU window to maximize visibility inside the bag. Bounces light around, making it easy to find small items in poor light even when the window is on the back side.
D-Ring Attachment Point
D-ring attachment point at buckle for securing to boats, bikes, kayaks, or for bear hangs. The D-ring takes the load, not the buckle — important for tree hauls where you don't want full body weight on a small plastic part.
Hypalon Non-Wicking Closure
Uses the same hypalon non-wicking roll-top closure as other Sea to Summit dry sacks — the hypalon strip prevents water from wicking through the fabric fold at the top, the most common point of water entry in roll-top bags.
Better than Regular Dry Bags for Groups
Not only is this dry bag great for storage and protection, it's especially useful when a group is sharing equipment — View Dry Bags make finding a specific piece of gear an absolute breeze. No more opening every bag at the campsite to remember which one has the stoves or the first-aid kit.
bluesign APPROVED + Non-PFAS
Made from bluesign APPROVED RCS-certified recycled 70D nylon with a C0 non-PFAS DWR finish — same environmental standards as the rest of the Lightweight Dry Bag line. No forever chemicals in contact with your gear.
Compatible with Dry Bag Sling
Compatible with the Dry Bag Sling (sold separately) — turn any size into a shoulder bag for portaging or boat-to-camp transport. Modular design for true versatility.

Rinse & Dry After Salt-Water or Muddy Use
After paddle sports or muddy camping trips, rinse the dry bag with fresh water and let it air dry completely before storing — salt crystals and mud can degrade the DWR finish and PU coating over time. Pay special attention to the TPU window, which can develop water spots that obscure visibility if not cleaned.
Clean the TPU Window Regularly
Wipe the TPU window with a soft, damp cloth to keep it clear — dust, fingerprints, and water spots will reduce visibility through the window over time. Avoid abrasive cleaners or paper towels (which can scratch the TPU); a microfiber cloth works best.
Replaceable Field Repair Buckle
The buckle is the most common point of failure on any dry bag — the Sea to Summit Field Repair Buckle is field-replaceable with no tools, so a broken buckle doesn't mean a dead bag. Keep a spare buckle (sold separately) in your repair kit for trips where replacement is critical.
Re-Proof DWR Every 1-2 Years
Re-proof the C0 DWR finish every 1-2 years with a spray-on treatment (like Nikwax TX Direct Spray-On or Granger's Performance Repel) — restores water beading on the fabric surface and extends the water-resistant lifespan. The C0 DWR is more environmentally friendly than older C8 formulas but does wear off with use.
Avoid Sharp Objects & Abrasive Surfaces
The 70D ripstop is tough but not puncture-proof — avoid dragging the bag across sharp rocks, jagged branches, or rough concrete. The TPU window is also vulnerable to punctures from sharp objects (pocket knives, tent stakes, fishing hooks). Repair punctures with Gear Aid Tenacious Tape.
Store Dry & Open
Always store the dry bag completely dry and unrolled (or loosely rolled) — trapped moisture leads to mildew, mold, and a sour smell that transfers to gear on future trips. Storing unrolled also reduces stress on the roll-top closure seam and prevents the TPU window from creasing permanently.
