Lightweight Dry Bag Set
Lightweight Dry Bag Set
3-Bag Bundle · 3/5/8L or 8/13/20L · 162–239 g

The updated Lightweight Dry Bag is Sea to Summit's most versatile design — and with this set of three bundled together, you're at the peak of versatility. Each bag is soft and pliable and made from a bluesign APPROVED recycled 70D nylon with a C0 non-PFAS DWR finish. The interior polyurethane coating is white to improve visibility and make it easy to find small items in poor light. They use the same hypalon non-wicking roll-top closure as other dry sacks and feature a D-ring attachment point at the buckle. The new oval base prevents the dry bag from rolling away on sloping surfaces. The set comes pre-bundled in three different colors (Surf the Web, Sulphur, Spicy Orange) for instant color-coded packing — no need to choose. All Lightweight Dry Bags post-2024 are compatible with the Dry Bag Sling. Ideal for backpacking, cycle touring, travel, ski touring, and paddle sports. Two size combinations: 3/5/8L for solo/small setups, 8/13/20L for couples/small groups.

3-Bag Bundle (Two Size Combos)
Two size combinations: 3L/5L/8L (162 g set) for solo or small-setup packing, or 8L/13L/20L (239 g set) for couples or small groups. Pick the combo that matches your typical trip size.
Pre-Bundled 3-Color Mix
Each set comes with three bags in three different colors (Surf the Web / Sulphur / Spicy Orange) for instant color-coded packing — no need to choose, no separate orders. Toss the right color in the pack and know what's in it before opening. (Singles come in 5 colors, but the set is pre-bundled in this specific 3-color mix.)
Roll-Top Closure + Field Repair Buckle
Roll-top closure secured with the patented Field Repair Buckle for a reliable seal — fold the top down 3-4 times, clip the buckle, and water stays out. The Field Repair Buckle is field-replaceable if it ever breaks, and the same buckle design is used across the entire dry bag line.
10000mm Hydrostatic Head
Body of each bag is waterproof with a 10000mm hydrostatic head — fully taped and double-stitched seams keep water out in rain, splashes, and brief submersions. The roll-top is not 100% sealed (no dry bag truly is), so avoid extended submersion.
Double-Stitched + Fully Taped Seams
Double-stitched and fully taped waterproof seams on all three bags — the strongest seam construction in the Sea to Summit dry bag line, designed to hold up to years of stuffing, pulling, and rough handling.
Oval Base (NEW for 2024+)
NEW oval base prevents the dry bags from rolling away on sloping surfaces — and packs better in flat-bottomed packs and duffels. No more dry bags sliding off a tilted picnic table or rolling across a tent floor.
White Interior for Visibility
Light reflecting white interior on all three bags for better visibility of gear — the white coating bounces light around inside, making it easy to find small items (headlamp, batteries, snacks) in poor light.
D-Ring Attachment Point
D-ring attachment point at buckle on each bag for securing to boats, bikes, kayaks, or for bear hangs. The D-ring takes the load, not the buckle — important for tree hauls where you don't want full body weight on a small plastic part.
Hypalon Non-Wicking Closure
Same hypalon non-wicking roll-top closure as other Sea to Summit dry sacks — the hypalon strip prevents water from wicking through the fabric fold at the top, the most common point of water entry in roll-top bags.
Cold Weather Capable
Fabric and roll-top closure stiffener remain pliable to around -20°F / -30°F — the bags will work in winter conditions, ski touring, and cold-weather camping. Below those temperatures, a hard case with an O-ring is better for critical gear.
Compatible with Dry Bag Sling
All three bags in the set are compatible with the Dry Bag Sling (sold separately) — turn any bag into a shoulder bag for portaging or boat-to-camp transport. Modular design for true versatility.

Rinse & Dry All 3 Bags After Salt-Water or Muddy Use
After paddle sports or muddy camping trips, rinse all three dry bags with fresh water and let them air dry completely before storing — salt crystals and mud can degrade the DWR finish and PU coating over time. A quick freshwater rinse extends waterproof life dramatically.
Replaceable Field Repair Buckle on All 3 Bags
The buckle is the most common point of failure on any dry bag — the Sea to Summit Field Repair Buckle is field-replaceable with no tools. Keep a spare buckle (sold separately) in your repair kit for trips where replacement is critical.
Re-Proof DWR Every 1-2 Years
Re-proof the C0 DWR finish every 1-2 years with a spray-on treatment (like Nikwax TX Direct Spray-On or Granger's Performance Repel) — restores water beading on the fabric surface and extends the water-resistant lifespan. The C0 DWR is more environmentally friendly than older C8 formulas but does wear off with use.
Avoid Sharp Objects & Abrasive Surfaces
The 70D ripstop is tough but not puncture-proof — avoid dragging the bags across sharp rocks, jagged branches, or rough concrete. Sharp objects (pocket knives, tent stakes, fishing hooks) can puncture the bag and compromise the waterproof seal. Repair punctures with Gear Aid Tenacious Tape.
Store All 3 Bags Dry & Open
Always store the dry bags completely dry and unrolled (or loosely rolled) — trapped moisture leads to mildew, mold, and a sour smell that transfers to gear on future trips. Storing unrolled also reduces stress on the roll-top closure seam.
Roll-Top Best Practices
For a watertight seal on all 3 bags, fold the top down at least 3-4 times before buckling (3 folds for 10000mm, 4+ for extra security in heavy rain) and make sure the buckle is clipped straight, not twisted. A twisted buckle is the #1 cause of roll-top leaks.
