Ground Control Tent Pegs
Ground Control Tent Pegs
7075-T6 Alloy · 8-Pack · 14 g per peg

The perfect strong and light replacement pegs for your tent, tarp, or shelter. Ground Control Tent Pegs are made from anodized 7075-T6 alloy — the same aerospace-grade aluminum used in high-stress structural applications — for an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. The three-sided design is extremely strong and offers great holding power in both soft and hard ground, and in hard ground where you can't drive the peg in full depth, the multi-height guy points let you attach guy lines at any level to minimize leverage on the peg. Each peg ships with a reflective cord and luminescent pull tab for easy extraction when breaking camp in low light, and the whole set comes organized in a CORDURA Ultra-Sil peg bag that weighs almost nothing in your pack.

Anodized 7075-T6 Alloy
Made from anodized 7075-T6 alloy — the same aerospace-grade aluminum used in high-stress structural applications. Exceptional strength-to-weight ratio at 14 g per peg, holds secure in soft soil and rocky hardpack alike.
Three-Sided Cross Section
Three-sided design is extremely strong and resists bending and twisting better than round-profile pegs. The flat sides bite into the ground cleanly and hold their position when the guy line goes taut, even in high wind.
Multi-Height Guy Points
Multi-height guy points let you attach guy lines at any level on the peg — in hard ground where you can't drive the peg in full depth, attach the line higher up to minimize leverage on the peg and prevent it from pulling out under load.
Reflective Cord + Luminescent Pull Tab
Each peg comes with a reflective cord and luminescent pull tab — no more fumbling for pegs in the dark, no more leaving pegs behind at camp. The pull tab gives you a solid grip for extraction without bending over or using a tool.
Great Holding Power in Soft & Hard Ground
Designed for real-world conditions — the three-sided profile bites into soft ground and the multi-height guy points prevent pull-out in hard ground. Tested in sand, soil, snow, and rocky alpine terrain.
8-Peg Pack with CORDURA Ultra-Sil Bag
Includes 8 pegs (enough for a typical 2-3 person tent) and a CORDURA Ultra-Sil peg bag for organized storage. The Ultra-Sil bag adds almost no weight to your pack and keeps pegs together, dry, and easy to find at camp.

Store in the CORDURA Ultra-Sil Peg Bag
Always return the 8 pegs to the included CORDURA Ultra-Sil peg bag after use — keeps them organized in your pack, prevents the reflective cords and pull tabs from tangling, and protects the anodized finish from abrasion against other gear.
Inspect Tips and Pull Tabs
Before each trip, inspect the 8 pegs for bent tips, deep gouges, or damaged pull tabs. A bent peg is more likely to pull out under load, and a torn pull tab means fumbling extraction in the dark. Replace any peg showing significant wear.
Wipe Clean After Muddy Trips
After particularly muddy or wet trips, rinse the pegs with fresh water and dry them before returning to the peg bag — trapped moisture and dirt can degrade the reflective cord over time, and dirt can scratch other gear in your pack.
Use a Rock for Hard Ground
In hard or rocky ground where a peg won't go in by hand, place a small flat rock on top of the peg head and tap with another rock or a trekking pole cap — never hammer directly on the peg itself, as that can mushroom the anodized alloy tip and damage the profile.
Reseat After Heavy Wind or Rain
After high winds or heavy rain, walk the perimeter and check each peg — saturated soil can loosen pegs, and high winds can work a peg out of position. Reseat any peg that's wiggling in the ground and tighten the guy lines as needed.
