Frontier Ultralight Collapsible One Pot Cook Set - 5 Piece
Frontier Ultralight Collapsible One Pot Cook Set
5-Piece Couples Cook System · 2L Pot + 2 Bowls + 2 Cups · 18.6 oz · Click Safe Handle · Ceramic Non-Stick (PFOA-Free)

A perfect collapsible cookset for more expansive outdoor meals. Based on the 2L collapsible pot and including collapsible bowls and cups, this compact set allows you to expand your culinary horizons. Sea to Summit pioneered collapsible cookware and dinnerware — this set takes light & compact, functional camp kitchen gear to a new level. Made with EU/Japanese food-grade silicone and a hard anodised aluminium base for rapid heat transfer, the 2L Frontier Collapsible Pot features the Click Safe handle for secure handling and pouring. Rotate the handle to secure the lid and the tableware nested inside. The collapsible Frontier Bowls and Cups are as ergonomically functional as they are light. Glass-reinforced nylon rims make them easy to hold; silicone-rubber sidewalls have been engineered for perfect compactibility, and the curve between the sidewalls and base of the bowls harmonises with Sea to Summit spoons and sporks. Ideal for those with large appetites and limited storage space.

Couples Cook System
2L pot + 2 bowls + 2 cups = full kitchen for 2 diners.
2L Pot Capacity
Double the 1L solo version — cook for 2 at once.

Spoon-Matched Curve

Set Contents (5 Pieces)
NEW: Ceramic Non-Stick Finish (PFOA-FREE)
The Frontier pot line now has a ceramic non-stick finish — a major upgrade: Per STS FAQ: "Does the non-stick finish contain PFOAs? No - Frontier cookware uses a ceramic non-stick finish that is PFOA-free." What "ceramic non-stick" means: - Sol-gel based coating (silica-based) - No PFAS / PFOA / PTFE / any forever-chemical - Harder than traditional non-stick (more durable) - Heats more evenly than traditional non-stick - Better high-heat tolerance Why this matters for backcountry cooking: - Reduces sticking (faster cleanup) - Less oil needed (lighter food on trail) - More forgiving of cooking techniques - PFOA-free = no forever-chemical concerns The trade-off (per One Pot Cook Set FAQ): - Still no frying (per the One Pot Set FAQ: "Avoid frying - the oil may reach temperatures that can damage the pot") - Ceramic non-stick helps with normal cooking - For actual high-heat searing, use a different pan What this is NOT: - Not PTFE / Teflon (perfluorinated chemicals) - Not silicon-based traditional non-stick - The Frontier line is moving toward the most eco-friendly cookware possible
NEW: Cool Grip Surface (Bowl + Cup Heat Insulation)
Per STS FAQ: "Can the bowl / cup be held comfortably when contents are hot? Yes - the Cool Grip surface allows you to hold the tableware securely while providing insulation from hot contents." What "Cool Grip" is: - A surface treatment on the bowl/cup exterior - Insulates your fingers from hot contents - Doesn't add weight (surface treatment, not a separate layer) Why this matters for hot contents: - Standard silicone + nylon can transfer heat - Cool Grip surface = cooler outside, hot inside - Hold the bowl/cup safely with hot soup, coffee, etc. Practical: - Hold the bowl with soup without burning fingers - The Frontier bowl can be held with hot stew inside - The Frontier cup can be held with boiling water inside - Per One Pot FAQ: "boiling water won't damage the Cup" + Cool Grip = safe holding
Click Safe Handle is Interchangeable (NEW FAQ)
Per STS FAQ: "Will the Click-Safe handle fit other Frontier Pots? Yes - the Click-Safe handles are interchangeable." Why this matters: - Buy 1 handle, use across multiple Frontier pots - Replace a damaged handle (don't trash the pot) - Swap handles between the 1L and 2L pots - The Frontier handle hardware is standardized Practical: - Owning multiple Frontier pots = 1 handle saves weight - The handle is the most likely wear part - Standardized hardware = easy replacement - Contact STS for spares if needed
"Passage Tableware" Cross-Reference (NEW)
Per STS FAQ: "Are the Frontier Pots dishwasher safe? No - the pot and lid are anodized aluminum; the caustic cleanser used in dishwashers will damage the anodization. Passage tableware is dishwasher safe." This FAQ mentions "Passage tableware" — another STS tableware line! What this tells us: - STS has at least 2 tableware lines: Frontier (current build) and Passage (different line) - Passage tableware IS dishwasher safe (different materials or coating) - The Frontier line is not dishwasher safe - This is the first time I've seen Passage mentioned today Implications for cross-products: - The Passage line might be heavier + more durable - The Frontier line is ultralight (trade-off with dishwasher safety) - STS designs for different priorities across lines
Same 3 Critical FAQ Insights as One Pot Cook Set (Plus 2 New)
Shared FAQ insights (from the One Pot Cook Set A1246): 1. NOT dishwasher safe (per FAQ: caustic detergent damages anodization) 2. NOT induction compatible (aluminum base) 3. 2-burner stove OK (keep flame in printed ring) NEW FAQ insights unique to this 5-piece set: 4. Ceramic non-stick PFOA-free finish 5. Cool Grip surface for hot contents 6. Click Safe handles are interchangeable across Frontier pots 7. "Passage tableware is dishwasher safe" — sister STS line reference
Award-Worthy + Larger Meal System
The 5-Piece Set is positioned for "large appetites and limited storage space" (per STS): Why this set: - 2L pot = double the 1L pot in the solo set - 2 bowls = each diner has their own - 2 cups = hot drinks for 2 - Click Safe handle that "reversed to hold the lid and nesting contents in place for storage" = the entire system locks together - Ceramic non-stick = expanded cooking options - 18.6 oz / 527 g = manageable for 2-person backpacking Use case positioning: - Couples backpacking (2 diners) - Bigger meals (more capacity than 1L set) - Shared cooking (everyone has their own bowl + cup) - Expanded culinary options (ceramic non-stick helps)

Ceramic Non-Stick Finish Care (NEW DETAIL)
The NEW ceramic non-stick finish is durable but needs care:Per STS FAQ: "Does the non-stick finish contain PFOAs? No - Frontier cookware uses a ceramic non-stick finish that is PFOA-free." Why ceramic vs traditional non-stick: - Ceramic is harder (more durable) - Higher heat tolerance than PTFE - No forever-chemical concerns - More scratch-resistant than traditional non-stick - More eco-friendly manufacturing Care for the ceramic non-stick: - Use wood or silicone utensils (avoid metal) - Soft cloth for cleaning - Don't use abrasive scrubbers (degrades coating) - Air dry fully before storing - Store with care (avoid contact with other metal) Why still no frying (per One Pot Set FAQ): - "Avoid frying - the oil may reach temperatures that can damage the pot" - Ceramic is more heat-tolerant than PTFE but still has limits - High oil heat = local hotspots that exceed design temp - Stick to water-based cooking per STS guidance
Cool Grip Surface Care (NEW DETAIL)
The Cool Grip surface on bowls + cups:Per STS FAQ: "Cool Grip surface allows you to hold the tableware securely while providing insulation from hot contents." What Cool Grip is: - A surface treatment (not a separate layer) - Reduces heat transfer to fingers - Doesn't add weight - Doesn't wear off easily Care: - Wipe with a damp cloth after each use - Don't use abrasive cleaners (degrades the surface) - Don't use steel wool (degrades the Cool Grip) - Air dry fully before storing - Lasts the life of the bowl/cup Why this matters for hot contents: - Standard silicone + nylon can transfer heat - Hot soup = hot bowl exterior - Cool Grip = cooler exterior + hot interior - = Safe holding of hot food
"Passage Tableware" Cross-Reference (NEW STS LINE)
Per STS FAQ (the "Passage" reference): "Passage tableware is dishwasher safe." This is the first mention of "Passage" in today's session:What this tells us: - STS has a Passage tableware line (separate from Frontier) - Passage IS dishwasher safe - Frontier IS NOT dishwasher safe Why two tableware lines: - Frontier: Ultralight, premium, ceramic non-stick, Cool Grip, non-dishwasher-safe - Passage: Different positioning (durable, dishwasher-safe, probably heavier) - STS caters to different priorities Cross-product consideration: - The Frontier 5-Piece Set is for ultralight couples backpacking - Passage tableware is for users who want dishwasher-safe convenience - Both are part of the STS Collapsible Dinnerware family (presumably)
Click Safe Handle Care (NEW: Interchangeable)
Per STS FAQ: "Will the Click-Safe handle fit other Frontier Pots? Yes - the Click-Safe handles are interchangeable." New for this set — interchangeable handles:Care for interchangeable handles: - Wipe the click mechanism with a damp cloth - Don't submerge the click mechanism in water - The stainless steel hardware is durable - If loose, contact STS for spares Benefits of interchangeability: - 1 handle works across multiple Frontier pots - Replace a damaged handle without trashing the pot - Standardized hardware across the line - Carry 1 spare for emergency
Avoid These Failure Modes
Don't: - Run in a dishwasher (per FAQ — damages anodization) - Use on induction stoves (not compatible) - Use caustic cleaners (degrades surfaces) - Use steel wool (scratches anodized + non-stick) - Use metal utensils on the ceramic non-stick (scratches coating) - Cut inside the pot (silicone damage) - Heat empty (no water/food = damage risk) - Leave water standing for days (staining) - Use near open flame (melts silicone) - Drag across rough surfaces - Force the Click Safe handle (damages the mechanism) - Fry in oil (per One Pot Set FAQ — damages pot)
Sustainability & End-of-Life
Material considerations: - Aluminum base + lid: highly recyclable - 304 stainless steel handle: highly recyclable - Ceramic non-stick: harder to recycle - Silicone: harder to recycle (specialty facilities) - Glass-reinforced nylon: recyclable Longevity factors: - Hard-anodized aluminum: durable for decades - Ceramic non-stick: longest-lasting non-stick - 304 SS handle: very durable - EU food-grade silicone: 20+ years - Cool Grip surface: lasts the life of the bowl/cup At end-of-life: - Aluminum + stainless: recyclable as scrap metal - Ceramic non-stick: landfill mostly - Silicone: landfill mostly Compare to the 1L One Pot Cook Set (A1246): - A1246: 53% Silicone + 38% Al + 9% GR Nylon (no SS) - A1242 (this): 57% Al + 11% SS + 31.5% Silicone + 0.5% Nylon - This set: more aluminum + SS, less silicone - Reason: 2L pot = more rigid base, more weight tolerance
Activity-Specific Tips
- Couples backpacking: Primary use. 18.6 oz for full couples kitchen. - Bikepacking pairs: 8 × 8 × 2 in packed fits tandem cargo cages. - Packrafting couples: 2L pot nests well in packraft hatches. - Multi-day expeditions: 5,000-cycle durability (same as Frontier family). - Big meals: 2L pot = 4 cups of water for cooking + tea. - Two diner drinks: 2 cups = no sharing. - Most important: NEVER put in dishwasher. Hand-wash ONLY to preserve anodization + ceramic non-stick.
