Aeros Premium Traveller Pillow
Aeros Premium Traveller Pillow
Travel Pillow · Airplane · Compact

The Aeros Premium Traveller offers the jet-setting adventurer an exceptionally comfortable pillow with minimum bulk and weight. Using the same manufacturing techniques as our other Premium pillows, we have shaped a high strength TPU bladder to provide ergonomic support when you are sleeping upright. The bulbous side arms provide significantly more neck support than traditional neck pillows, while the centre of the pillow is extra thin so as not to apply pressure to the back of your neck when pressed into a headrest. A soft 50D polyester casing is used for the exterior fabric, providing superior hand feel for your comfort. The Aeros Premium Traveller Pillow includes an adjustable neck closure to support the entire circumference of your neck, providing a more comfortable sleep.

Ergonomic Support
Bulbous side arms cradle your neck from the sides — significantly more support than traditional horseshoe pillows.
Centre-Pressure Relief
Extra-thin centre prevents pressure on the back of your neck when pressed into a headrest.
Adjustable Neck Closure
Closure strap supports the entire circumference of your neck — pillow stays in place even when you shift in your seat.
Ultra Packable
Packs down to roughly the size of a shirt pocket (4 × 3 × 2 in). Fits in any carry-on, daypack, or laptop bag.
Fast Inflation
Low-profile multi-function mini-valve — inflates in 3–4 breaths, deflates in seconds.
Soft Hand Feel
50D polyester casing is soft against the skin — no scratchy synthetic feel common to cheaper travel pillows.
Ergonomic Bulbous Side Arms
Unlike traditional horseshoe travel pillows that put uniform pressure around the neck, the Aeros Premium Traveller has bulbous side arms (enlarged ends) that cradle the sides of your neck with significantly more support. The shape mimics how you'd support your neck with your hands if you were sitting upright and falling asleep.
Extra-Thin Centre
The middle of the pillow is intentionally extra-thin — when you lean back into a headrest, the centre compresses flat against your neck rather than pushing it forward. This is the opposite design from a regular camp pillow (where you want the centre thick for head support).
High-Strength TPU Bladder
Built with the same high-strength TPU bladder as the other Premium pillows — engineered for sleeping upright (when your head weighs down on the pillow from above) rather than the side-loading of camp pillow use. Holds shape under the asymmetric pressure of leaning back into a headrest.
50D Polyester Casing
The outer fabric is a soft 50D polyester (vs the Aeros Premium Pillow's 3D knit brushed stretch) — chosen for hand feel and durability. 50D is light enough to keep the pillow compact while still durable enough for travel wear.
Low-Profile Multi-Function Mini-Valve
Sea to Summit's low-profile multi-function mini-valve — a one-way intake that opens on the inhale, with a wide-deflation port for fast pack-down. The valve is intentionally low-profile so it doesn't press into your neck when you lean back into a headrest (a common complaint with travel pillow valves).
Packability
Packs Flat to Shirt-Pocket Size
The pillow deflates and folds flat into the included stuff sack — final packed size is roughly 4 × 3 × 2 in (about the size of a shirt pocket or a small smartphone). Fits in any carry-on bag's outer pocket, daypack lid, or laptop bag. Per STS FAQ: "When packed into its stuff sack, this camping and travel pillow packs down to the size of a shirt pocket."
Comparison to Standard Travel Pillows
Better Than Bean-Bag Horseshoe Pillows
Per STS FAQ: "We think so! This camping pillow is lighter and more packable than your typical padded millstone. Not only is this pillow more ergonomically-shaped, it's just as convenient and easily adjusted for firmness and comfort." Traditional U-shaped "bean bag" travel pillows are stuffed with foam beads — they don't compress well, take up permanent space in your bag, and don't provide adjustable firmness. The Aeros Premium Traveller uses air to provide firm support when you need it, soft when you don't.

Cleaning (per Sea to Summit FAQ)
Hand wash only — not machine-washable. Close the valve before cleaning, use warm water with a gentle kneading motion (don't scrub aggressively — can damage the TPU bladder and stress the welded seams), then let it air dry. Do not use a dryer — heat damages the TPU bladder and can warp the welded seams. For surface stains on the 50D polyester casing, a small amount of technical wash (like Nikwax Tech Wash) is preferable to regular soap.
Drying
Air dry only. After any cleaning or exposure to moisture, fully deflate the pillow and hang or lay flat in a well-ventilated area. Ensure the 50D polyester casing is completely dry before long-term storage. Do not tumble dry or expose to direct high heat.
Inflation & Deflation
To inflate: open the low-profile multi-function mini-valve, blow into the port (one-way intake flap lets air in without escaping), 3–4 breaths fills the pillow. To deflate: flip the valve cap to the deflation position — the wide port vents air rapidly. Always close the valve fully before use. Tip for travelers: inflate the pillow just before boarding rather than at the gate — most airline ambient noise drowns out the brief inflation sound, and you arrive with a perfectly firm pillow instead of a deflating one.
Valve Care
Keep the multi-function mini-valve free of debris — small particles can prevent the one-way flap from sealing properly, causing slow deflation overnight (or worse, mid-flight). If the valve sticks or doesn't hold air, check for debris and rinse with clean water. Do not use lubricants — they attract dirt and gum up the sealing surfaces.
Adjustable Neck Closure Care
The adjustable neck closure strap is the part most likely to wear over time. The closure typically uses hook-and-loop (Velcro) or a buckle — both are durable but can degrade with heavy use. To extend life: keep the closure clean (no crumbs, sweat, sunscreen residue), don't over-tighten (stresses the strap material), and store loose (not tightened flat).
Air Bladder Care
The TPU bladder is designed to handle the side-loading of upright sleep (head leaned back, body weight asymmetric). It will handle normal travel use for years. To extend life: don't over-inflate (the bladder is sized to a specific pressure for upright support), avoid extreme temperatures (don't leave in a hot car or frozen cargo hold), and inspect periodically for signs of seam wear or pinhole leaks.
50D Polyester Casing Care
The 50D polyester casing is durable enough for travel but not indestructible. Avoid contact with sharp objects (zippers, jewelry, seat-belt buckles) that can snag and tear the fabric. If the casing develops a small snag, trim with sharp scissors rather than pulling the thread (pulling makes the snag larger). Avoid Velcro (hooks catch and tear the polyester weave).
Long-Term Storage
Store fully deflated, dry, and loosely packed inside the included stuff sack — don't compress tightly. The TPU bladder can take a set if stored compressed for months, which may affect its ability to hold air. Avoid leaving inflated for extended periods (weeks) — the bladder material is designed for short-term inflation during travel, not for permanent pillow use.
Puncture Repair
The TPU bladder can be repaired with a Sea to Summit TPU repair patch (sold separately) or any TPU/polyurethane repair tape. Clean and dry the puncture area, apply the patch, and allow to cure fully (usually 12–24 hours) before re-inflating. Do not use silicone-based sealants on TPU — they won't adhere properly. Deep punctures or seam failures are not repairable and the pillow should be replaced.
Travel Tip
The Aeros Premium Traveller is sized to fit inside most airline seat-back pockets, laptop bags, and daypack lids. For long-haul flights, inflate the pillow partway (about 60%) before boarding — you'll want to fine-tune firmness once you're in your seat, and partial pre-inflation reduces the number of breaths needed in a quiet cabin. The adjustable neck closure means you can adjust tightness as you shift between upright reading position and fully reclined sleep — no need to remove and re-attach the pillow.
