Helium UL Bivy

The Helium UL Bivy is built for ultralight backpackers, climbers, and fast-packers who need waterproof protection and breathability in a minimalist shelter. Made with bluesign® approved Pertex® Shield NetPlus® fabric from 100% recycled nylon, the Helium UL Bivy is newly updated for 2026 to deliver durable, lightweight performance with a fully seam-taped design and waterproof PU-coated floor for reliable weather protection. Dual passive ventilation flaps improve airflow and reduce condensation, while a high-volume toe box adds comfort through the night. A clamshell opening, single DAC aluminum pole, and six stakes loop with four stakes make setup quick and efficient in any terrain.

Pertex® Shield NetPlus® Waterproof Shell
A 2.5-layer bluesign® approved Pertex® Shield NetPlus® laminate with hydrophilic membrane delivers fully waterproof, windproof protection while remaining highly breathable, keeping you dry from rain, sleet, and spindrift without the clammy condensation of non-breathable shelters.
PU-Coated Nylon Floor
A 100% nylon 40D ripstop floor with waterproof PU coating resists punctures from rocks, roots, and ice, and shrugs off ground moisture through long wet nights in alpine or shoulder-season conditions.
Fully Seam-Taped Construction
Every seam is factory-taped to seal out water at the stitching, where most bivy leaks start, giving you reliable wet-weather protection across the entire shelter.
Dual Passive Ventilation Flaps
Two adjustable vent flaps at the head and foot increase airflow and reduce internal condensation on humid nights, without requiring active management in changing weather.
No-See-Um Mesh
Fine no-see-um mesh panels keep midges, mosquitoes, and no-see-ums out during summer trips in buggy terrain, while still allowing ventilation to flow through the bivy.
Single DAC Aluminum Pole
A single DAC aluminum pole props the head end to create a high-volume toe box and breathing room around the face, keeping fabric off your nose and mouth through the night.
Clamshell Opening
A wide clamshell entry makes it easy to get in and out, sit up to read, or cook a small stove at the foot of the bivy on a long, cold night.
Six Stake Loops & Four Aluminum Stakes
Six perimeter stake loops provide secure anchoring in any terrain, and four included aluminum stakes get you set up fast out of the bag without extra purchases.
Reflective Logo & Trims
Subtle reflective accents add low-light visibility for finding your bivy in the dark, on early alpine starts, or in camp with headlamps bouncing around.

Cleaning
Wipe down the shell and floor with a damp cloth and mild soap after dusty or sandy trips. For deeper cleaning, hand wash in cold water with a technical-gear cleaner. Do not machine wash, bleach, fabric softener, or standard laundry soap, which can degrade the Pertex® Shield membrane and seam tape.
Drying
Always dry the bivy completely before long-term storage. Wipe out any condensation or moisture, prop the bivy open in the breeze, or set it up briefly in the sun at home after a wet trip. Avoid prolonged direct UV exposure, which can degrade the waterproof membrane over time.
Seam Tape Inspection
Periodically inspect the seam tape for lifting, peeling, or damage, especially after hard trips in abrasive terrain. A small tube of seam-seal repair adhesive can re-bond loose tape in the field and prevent slow leaks at the stitching.
Stake & Pole Care
Inspect stakes and pole sections after each trip. Wipe down aluminum components to remove grit before storage, and replace any bent stakes to keep the bivy anchored in soft ground and high winds.
Storage
Store the bivy loosely folded or hung in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Avoid keeping it compressed in its stuff sack for long periods, which can damage the membrane and reduce breathability. Keep the mesh panels away from rodents that may chew through fine fabrics.
