Helium Down Mitt

The Helium Down Mitt combines RDS Certified 700 fill down and PrimaLoft® Cross Core™ insulation for lightweight alpine warmth — warm and protective on its own, can also be layered under a waterproof glove shell for added versatility across changing conditions, built for alpine environments where dependable warmth is essential, delivering lightweight insulation for cold-weather mountain pursuits, wear it on its own to keep hands warm around camp, during transitions, or whenever activity levels drop, and when conditions turn wet, snowy, or more severe, pull a waterproof shell mitt directly over the Helium Down Mitt for an added layer of weather protection while maintaining the warmth underneath, with a 100% recycled nylon 20D ripstop shell providing lightweight durability and wind resistance, RDS Certified 700 fill down insulation on the back of the hand delivering exceptional warmth with minimal weight, PrimaLoft® Cross Core™ synthetic insulation in the palm maintaining thermal performance while enhancing grip, dexterity, and moisture resistance in high-contact areas, plus a 140g Tricot Microbemberg palm lining and low-cling woven polyester back-of-hand lining enhancing comfort and moisture management.

RDS Certified 700 Fill Down
Premium 700 fill power responsibly sourced down (Responsible Down Standard certified) on the back of the hand — delivers high warmth-to-weight ratio with verified ethical sourcing for sustainability-conscious buyers.
PrimaLoft® Cross Core™ Palm Insulation
170 g/m² PrimaLoft® Cross Core™ synthetic insulation in the palm — maintains thermal performance even when wet, enhances grip and dexterity in high-contact areas, and won't clump or migrate like down can.
Layerable Under Shell Mitts
Designed to be worn standalone OR layered under a waterproof shell mitt (like the Hemispheres or Snowcrew Leather) for added weather protection in changing alpine conditions — versatile layering piece for serious mountain pursuits.
100% Recycled Nylon 20D Ripstop
Lightweight 100% recycled nylon 20D ripstop shell — sustainable construction with wind resistance and durability for alpine use. Compresses small for packability.
Anti-Slip Silicone Pads
Strategic silicone pads on palm and fingers provide confident grip on poles, leashes, tools, and phones — eliminates the slippery feel of plain nylon palms without adding bulk.
Lightweight & Compressible
Weighs just 4.2 oz / 119 g — disappears in your pack or jacket pocket. Compresses small for fast-and-light alpine missions where every ounce matters.
Tricot Microbemberg Palm Lining
140 g/m² Tricot Microbemberg palm lining feels soft, smooth, and warm against skin — wicks moisture to keep hands dry during transitions and high-output activity.
Low-Cling Woven Back-of-Hand Lining
Low-cling woven polyester back-of-hand lining slides easily in and out of a shell mitt for layering — reduces friction and makes it easier to pull a waterproof shell over the top in changing conditions.
Stretch Cuff & Pull-On Tab
Stretch cuff slides easily under or over jacket sleeves — accommodates layering changes throughout the day. Reinforced pull-on tab makes it easy to slip the mitts on quickly with cold hands.
Glove Clip + Snap Connectors
Built-in glove clip keeps the pair together when stored. Snap connectors join both mitts for one-handed carry and easier packing — practical details for real mountain use.

Wash Less — Spot Clean First
Down mitts lose loft with every wash. Spot clean small dirt and stains with a damp cloth and mild soap — only machine wash when truly necessary (heavy sweat, food spills, persistent odors).
Hand Wash (If Needed)
Hand wash gently in cold water with a technical down/synthetic wash (like Nikwax Down Wash) — avoid machine washing, which can damage the 20D shell and down baffles.
Tumble Dry Low with Tennis Balls
If machine drying, use low heat with 2-3 clean tennis balls — they break up down clumps and restore loft. Air dry flat as an alternative.
Store Uncompressed
Store hanging or in a large breathable bag — avoid long-term compression in a stuff sack, which damages down loft and reduces long-term warmth.
Do Not Bleach, Iron, or Dry Clean
Avoid chlorine bleach (degrades shell and insulation), hot irons (melts synthetic fibers), and dry-cleaning solvents (strips down's natural oils and damages synthetic insulation).
