The sun protection is permanent in the fabric and won't wash out, unlike sunscreen that needs reapplication. The long-sleeve cut plus UV-blocking fabric means the runner can stay out on exposed ridges for hours without burning through a base layer.
Pop-Up Sun Collar
"A collar you can pop for extra coverage from the sun" — the convertible collar flips up to shield the back of the neck from sun exposure on exposed sections of trail, where direct overhead light is most intense. The pop-up collar gives the runner an extra layer of skin protection without adding the bulk of a separate buff or sun hood, and it tucks back down cleanly when the trail moves into shade.

Button-Up Trail Versatility
The button-up front closure gives the wearer full control over ventilation and coverage. Button all the way up for maximum sun protection and warmth on exposed ridge walks, or unbutton the top buttons for a relaxed, open feel on warm climbs. The button-up design also makes the top easy to take off and stash in a pack when the trail conditions change, with no fight to pull a pullover over a sweaty head.
Long-Sleeve Coverage
The long-sleeve cut provides full arm coverage for sun protection on exposed trail sections, while the stretch fabric allows the arms to move freely through the full range of motion needed for high-reach scrambles and pole plants. Machine Wash
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors. Turn the top inside-out before washing to protect the smooth taffeta surface and the buttons. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and harsh detergents, which can strip the sweat-wicking treatment, degrade the UV protection, and damage the stretch recovery of the taffeta fabric.
Drying
Tumble dry on low heat or hang to air dry. The lightweight taffeta dries quickly on its own — air drying is recommended to extend the life of the UV protection, the sweat-wicking treatment, and the button integrity. Avoid high heat, which can damage the taffeta weave, warp the buttons, and degrade the pop-up collar structure.
UV Protection Care
The built-in UV protection is permanent in the fabric and won't wash out, but stretched-out fabric reduces the protection level. Maintain the stretch recovery by washing on gentle cycles and air drying when possible. A stretched-out top lets more UV through the fabric, so replace the top if the taffeta has lost its snap.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Hang dry or fold loosely to maintain the taffeta surface and prevent creasing at the pop-up collar and cuffs. Avoid storing the top in damp conditions, which can degrade the sweat-wicking treatment and stain the smooth taffeta surface over time.
