Smith Nexus MIPS Round Contour Fit

When you spend more days on the mountain than off, the Smith Nexus Round Contour Fit is your helmet for bomber protection that holds up season after season. In addition to a hybrid shell that balances a lightweight, low-profile design with a durable hardshell exterior, the Nexus steps up impact coverage with Koroyd™ throughou t the helmet, a fully-vented material that absorbs more energy in a crash than traditional foam construction alone. Add MIPS™ for increased safety during angled impacts, and you have our most advanced helmet design. Since all this protection is useless if you don™t want to wear it, we dialed up the comfort level with a microadjustable BOA™ 360 Fit System that adapts to your whole head. A sweat-wicking, odor-fighting liner keeps you warm, while a front and rear adjustable 24-vent design lets you regulate airflow as needed.

Cleaning
Wipe the shell and liner with a damp cloth and mild soap after dusty or sweaty days. Remove the ear pads and liner for hand-washing in cold water with a gentle technical-gear cleaner. Do not machine wash, bleach, fabric softener, or standard laundry soap, which can degrade the EPS foam, BOA® dial, and anti-bacterial liner treatments.
Drying
Always air-dry the helmet completely before long-term storage. Pat the liner dry with a clean towel, then prop the helmet in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat. Avoid leaving the helmet in a hot car or near radiators, which can warp the shell and degrade the EPS foam.
EPS Inspection
Inspect the EPS foam liner after any hard impact, even if no damage is visible. Crushed, dented, or cracked foam means the helmet should be replaced, as EPS is engineered to absorb a single impact. Most helmet manufacturers also recommend replacing any helmet after 5 years of regular use, regardless of impact history.
BOA® and Buckle Care
Periodically check the BOA® dial and Fidlock® buckle for grit or ice buildup. Wipe with a dry cloth and clear any debris from the dial mechanism. The BOA® system is warrantied for the lifetime of the helmet, but the strap and buckle should be replaced if they show fraying or signs of wear.
Storage
Store the helmet in the included bag in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. UV exposure degrades the shell and EPS foam over time. Avoid resting heavy objects on top of the helmet, which can compress the EPS and reduce impact protection.
