La Sportiva Tarantula Boulder Women's

The best-selling Tarantula Women's climbing shoe is reinvigorated with additional features to help beginner climbers focus on bouldering and more complex climbing movements. Additional toe rubber increases durability and toe-hooking capabilities, and an updated heel helps facilitate heel hooking.

Beginner-Friendly Boulder Focus
Reinvigorated version of the best-selling Tarantula Women's — specifically updated to help beginner climbers focus on bouldering and more complex climbing movements like toe hooks and heel hooks.
Additional Toe Rubber
Additional toe rubber coverage increases durability and toe-hooking capabilities — the most common high-wear area for boulder problems gets reinforced for repeated hook attempts.
Updated Heel for Heel Hooking
Updated heel construction facilitates secure heel hooks on volumes and overhangs — a critical capability for modern indoor bouldering and competitive climbing sequences.
FriXion® RS Ultra-Sticky Rubber
Ultra-sticky FriXion® RS rubber compound delivers maximum performance when climbing — high friction for smearing, edging, and hook engagement on indoor holds and outdoor rock.
Flat, Neutral Last
Flat, neutral last shape with minimal asymmetry — comfortable for all-day gym sessions, beginner-friendly, and forgiving on long bouldering sessions where feet swell.
Unlined Leather Upper
Unlined leather stretches to mold to the foot over time — the longer you wear them, the better the fit becomes for your specific foot shape.
Lace Closure
Traditional lace closure allows precise tension adjustment across the entire foot — essential for beginner climbers dialing in comfort during long sessions.
Resolable Construction
Fully resolable to extend the life of the footwear — take to a La Sportiva-approved cobbler when the rubber wears through. Especially important for beginner climbers who put more wear into shoes during the learning phase.
Women's-Specific Pattern
Built on a women's-specific last — appropriate volume and proportions for female foot morphology, not a men's pattern sized down.
Sizing Note — Size Down
Generally sized down 1–2 full EU sizes from a standard EU street shoe size — consult the La Sportiva size chart before ordering.

Breaking In
The unlined leather upper stretches to mold to the foot over time. Wear them around the house or on easy approaches before first gym sessions to accelerate the break-in and avoid hot spots.
Cleaning the Leather Upper
Wipe the leather upper with a damp cloth to remove dirt and chalk. Avoid soaking the shoes in water — leather can deform and lose structural integrity if waterlogged repeatedly.
FriXion® RS Rubber Care
The ultra-sticky rubber compound picks up dust and chalk that reduce friction. Wipe the rand and sole with a slightly damp cloth between burns to restore grip. Avoid touching the rubber with chalked fingers during climbs.
Toe and Heel Rubber Inspection
The reinforced toe rubber and updated heel see the most wear on this shoe. Check monthly for wear-through — especially on the toe patch if you climb many problems with toe-hook sequences. Resoling is cheaper than replacement.
Drying
Air dry at room temperature away from direct heat sources. Stuff with newspaper to absorb moisture and maintain shape — replace the paper after a few hours for faster drying.
Resoling
When the rand rubber wears through, take the shoes to a La Sportiva-approved cobbler for resoling. Beginner climbers especially benefit from resoling rather than replacement while they're still dialing in their footwork and shoe-care routine.
Storage Between Sessions
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. A breathable shoe bag or mesh storage cube prevents dust accumulation without trapping moisture.
