La Sportiva TX Setter Winter 2026.27

The TX Setter are La Sportiva's first shoe developed with and for route setters. Combining climbing precision with approach-shoe comfort, these hyper-specialised footwear are engineered to support the demands of indoor professionals. Whether you're forerunning 4A or 8A, hauling buckets of holds, or simply clocking long shifts in the gym, you'll experience reliable, breathable comfort alongside high performance grip. An asymmetrical climbing-inspired lacing system provides a customisable fit and protects the laces during toe hooks. A high-friction rubber toe patch elevates grippiness, while the rubber heel boosts control on volumes. The outsole offers next-level traction and durability on all textured surfaces thanks to the exclusive Vibram® MegaGrip™ Elite compound. Like your favourite pair of climbing shoes, these are also fully resolable to last for years to come. La Sportiva's trailblazing TX Setter shoes are exclusively tailored for a crucial, highly demanding profession — to help you set routes and redefine what's possible.

Built for Route Setters
First La Sportiva shoe developed with and for route setters — hyper-specialised footwear engineered specifically for the demands of indoor climbing professionals, not adapted from another category.
Climbing Precision + Approach Comfort
Combines climbing-shoe precision with approach-shoe comfort for long shifts in the gym — a unique hybrid built for the route-setter workflow of setting, forerunning, and adjusting holds.
Asymmetrical Climbing-Inspired Lacing
Asymmetrical lacing system inspired by climbing shoes provides a customisable fit and protects the laces during toe hooks — critical for the repeated toe-hook sequences of forerunning and adjusting.
High-Friction Toe Patch
High-friction rubber toe patch elevates grippiness on smears, edges, and the holds themselves — the rubber is tuned for the texture of climbing holds, not just rock.
Rubber Heel for Volume Control
Rubber heel boosts control on volumes and on heel hooks during forerunning — a critical capability for the dynamic movements route setters use to verify problem quality.
Vibram® MegaGrip™ Elite Outsole
Exclusive Vibram® MegaGrip™ Elite compound delivers next-level traction and durability on all textured surfaces — climbing holds, volumes, gym flooring, and the textured panels setters work on.
Breathable Comfort for Long Shifts
Engineered for reliable, breathable comfort across long shifts in the gym — route setters spend hours on their feet in warm indoor environments, and ventilation matters as much as grip.
Fully Resolable Construction
Like favorite climbing shoes, the TX Setter is fully resolable to extend service life by years — designed for a profession that puts serious wear on footwear and benefits from long-term investment.
Winter 2026.27 Release
La Sportiva Winter 2026.27 seasonal release — a future-forward product launching into the next climbing season's indoor setting workflows.

Toe Patch
High-friction rubber
Heel
Rubber heel for volume control
Resolable
Yes — designed for long service life
After-Use Cleaning
Brush off chalk dust and hold fragments with a soft brush after each shift. The Vibram® MegaGrip™ Elite compound performs best when clean — caked chalk reduces friction on textured surfaces.
Toe Patch and Heel Inspection
These are the highest-wear areas for route setters. Check monthly for wear-through and resoling needs — the resolable construction is specifically designed for this replacement cycle.
Drying
Air dry at room temperature away from direct heat. The TX Setter's breathability engineering helps moisture evaporate during normal use, but overnight drying matters if shoes get soaked during outdoor forerunning sessions.
Resoling Service
Take to a La Sportiva-approved cobbler for resoling when the outsole or toe patch wears through. Resoling extends service life significantly and reduces cost-per-shift compared to replacement — important for professional setters who rely on the same shoe day after day.
Storage Between Shifts
Store in a cool, dry place. A breathable mesh bag keeps the shoes ventilated and ready for the next shift without trapping moisture.
Lacing System Care
The asymmetrical lacing system takes more stress than standard lacing — inspect laces monthly for fraying and replace as needed to maintain the customized fit the system is designed to deliver.
