Built for the unexpected, the Impermeo 3L Hooded Jacket is a waterproof and windproof shell for coastal hikes and summer thunderstorms alike. Fully seam-sealed, three-layer protection fights off the elements, while two-way stretch keeps you cruising along the trail. Built-in adjustability lets you dial the fit for maximum protection, and the whole thing packs into a pocket for easy storage when the sun pokes through.

Every seam is taped shut for complete waterproof protection — eliminates the most common leak point on trail shells, so rain stays out at the stitch lines even in sustained downpours.
Aquaguard® Center Front Opening
YKK Aquaguard® water-repellent zipper runs the full front length — the most exposed closure on a hardshell gets the most aggressive weather sealing in the YKK lineup.
2-Way Stretch for Movement
Recycled poly shell with mechanical stretch moves with the body in every direction — keeps the 3-layer construction from binding on scrambles, high steps, and reaching overhead.
2 Secure Hand Pockets + 1 Secure Chest Pocket
Three zippered storage pockets — two hand pockets for warm-up duties and a chest pocket for phone, GPS, or trail map without competing for hand pocket space.
Packs Into Right Hand Pocket
The entire jacket stuffs into the wearer's right hand pocket and zips shut — turns into its own stuff sack for stashing in a pack or clipping to a harness when the sun returns.
Internal Storm Flap at Center Front
Secondary fabric flap behind the Aquaguard zipper blocks wind and rain from penetrating the zipper teeth — adds a redundant weather seal at the most exposed line of the jacket.
Pit Zips for Easy Venting
Underarm zippers dump heat and moisture vapor fast when the climb heats up — gives instant climate control without breaking the front seal or removing the jacket.

Adjustable Hood, Hem & Cuffs

Cleaning
Machine wash cold with like colors. Use a mild, technical-fabric detergent. Close all zippers before washing. Avoid bleach, fabric softener, and stain-remover sprays — they degrade the TPU lamination and the printed jersey backer, and strip the C0 DWR finish.
Drying
Tumble dry on low to medium heat for 20–30 minutes to reactivate the C0 DWR finish on the shell — restores water beading across the face fabric and reduces how hard the 10k TPU membrane has to work.
DWR Maintenance
If the shell starts wetting out (water soaking into the face fabric instead of beading), wash and tumble dry on low to reactivate the DWR, or apply a C0/PFAS-free DWR refresh spray rated for 3-layer waterproof membranes.
3-Layer Membrane Care
The 3-layer construction has a laminated jersey backer that's bonded to the TPU membrane — avoid harsh scrubbing or twisting during washing, which can delaminate the layers, and don't use stain-remover sprays on the inside of the jacket.
Aquaguard® Zipper Care
Keep Aquaguard® zipper teeth clean and free of debris — periodically brush lightly with a soft brush to clear dust and salt. The PU coating on the zipper can wear over time; if water starts penetrating the center front after heavy use, contact Cotopaxi for warranty support.
Storage
Hang on a wide hanger in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight for long-term storage. The jacket can be stuffed into its pocket for short-term stashing in a pack, but don't store it compressed for extended periods — UV degrades the TPU membrane and long compression can delaminate the 3-layer construction.
