Wipe the blade and handle with a soft, dry cloth after each use. For deeper cleaning, use mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly — especially the pivot area, lock interfaces, and any wood handle areas. Avoid prolonged moisture exposure on the wood scales.
Lubrication
Apply a small drop of light machine oil or knife-specific lubricant (such as Benchmade's BlueLube) to the AXIS lock bar interfaces and pivot every few months — or after cleaning. This keeps deployment smooth and prevents grit buildup in the lock mechanism.
Sharpening
The Mini Crooked River is covered by Benchmade's LifeSharp program: free lifetime professional sharpening, cleaning, oiling, and re-calibration. Send or visit any authorized Benchmade dealer. For home maintenance, use quality diamond or ceramic stones at the manufacturer's recommended angle; the AXIS lock makes full disassembly safe and straightforward.
Wood Handle Care
The wood handle scales are a natural material that benefits from occasional conditioning with a wood-safe oil (such as mineral oil or a dedicated wood conditioner). Apply a small amount to a soft cloth and rub into the wood, then buff off excess. Conditioning keeps the wood from drying out, preserves the finish, and maintains the in-hand feel of the natural material.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry environment. The Mini Crooked River ships with a reversible pocket clip — remove the clip before long-term storage if you want to preserve spring tension. Avoid leather sheaths for long-term storage in humid climates (leather retains moisture).

Returns & Exchanges:

If you received the wrong size or wish to exchange an item, it must be returned in original condition—unused, uninstalled, and with all packaging intact.
