The AFO II carries on the legacy of the AFO — Benchmade's first automatic platform ever, refined over years of service into the proven push-button auto used in all branches of the Armed Forces. The push-button mechanism deploys the blade with a deliberate, decisive action and the integrated safety prevents accidental deployment — the kind of one-handed reliability that military, law enforcement, and tactical professionals depend on. Built on a substantial aluminum chassis with a robust 3.59" drop-point blade, the AFO II is sized for serious use without crossing into oversized territory — substantial enough for demanding work, compact enough for daily carry in a tactical rotation. At 5.8 ounces with a substantial 0.6" handle profile, it carries a meaningful presence that communicates purpose. The MOLLE-compatible nylon sheath attaches to packs, plate carriers, and belts for accessible carry in the field. Made in Benchmade's Oregon City facility and backed by the LifeSharp lifetime service program.

Cleaning
Wipe the blade and handle with a soft, dry cloth after each use. For deeper cleaning, use mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly — especially the automatic mechanism internals, pivot area, and safety interface. Keep the push-button area free of debris that could affect mechanism function.
Automatic Mechanism Lubrication
Apply a small drop of light machine oil or knife-specific lubricant (such as Benchmade's BlueLube) to the automatic mechanism internals every few months — or after cleaning. More frequent lubrication helps maintain consistent deployment speed and reliable firing action over the life of the knife. Cycle the mechanism several times after lubrication to distribute the oil.
Sharpening
The AFO II is covered by Benchmade's LifeSharp program: free lifetime professional sharpening, cleaning, oiling, and re-calibration. Send or visit any authorized Benchmade dealer. For home maintenance, use quality diamond or ceramic stones at the manufacturer's recommended angle; the drop-point blade sharpens easily with standard guided systems.
Safety Check
Periodically verify that the integrated safety mechanism is functioning properly — the safety should prevent the blade from deploying unless deliberately disengaged. If the safety ever fails to engage or release properly, send the knife in for service before relying on it for carry or use. The safety is what separates a tactical automatic from a dangerous tool.
Sheath Care
The nylon sheath with MOLLE-compatible attachment is low-maintenance by design. Wipe it down with a damp cloth as needed and inspect the MOLLE webbing and attachment points periodically for wear. Keep the retention mechanism clean so the knife seats and releases consistently.

Components:

Bicycles:

Complete bikes typically ship within 2–3 weeks due to build, tuning, and inspection times. You will receive tracking information as soon as your order is ready to ship.

Riding Gear & Apparel:

Riding gear and apparel orders (helmets, jerseys, gloves, etc.) ship within 3-10 business days.

Returns & Exchanges:

If you received the wrong size or wish to exchange an item, it must be returned in original condition—unused, uninstalled, and with all packaging intact.
