BCA Dozer™ 2T-S Avalanche Shovel

With the same large blade and long shaft as our Dozer 2T model, plus a 9-inch saw integrated into the shaft. For those looking to cut through wood limbs or perform snow stability tests. Complete with a low-profile stompable blade, cored out handle, and ovo-concave shaft. Our ovo-concave shovel shaft is the first of its kind, designed to prevent breakage while prying. Inspired by our legendary D-2 EXT “Dozer” shovel, we’ve taken our groundbreaking oval design and added a concave radius on both sides to make it even stronger, without adding weight. Like a high-end lacrosse stick, this shape also enables better grip in the palm, reducing slippage while shoveling. All BCA extendable models are designed to meet the UIAA standard for avalanche rescue shovels.

6061 Aluminum Blade/Shaft
The 6061 aluminum blade and shaft balance strength, durability, and packable weight.
Extendable T-Grip
The extendable T-grip provides a compact packed shape and additional digging length.
Flat stomp edge blade
The flat upper blade edge provides a place to apply boot pressure in firm snow.
Snow Saw
An integrated saw stores in the shaft for cutting snow-test columns or small wood limbs.

Assembly & Locking Check
Verify that the shaft and grip extend and lock securely before use. Inspect the integrated saw and its shaft storage interface; clean and dry the teeth after use.
Blade, Shaft & Grip Inspection
Check the blade for cracks or deformation and inspect the ovo-concave shaft, grip, holes, and locking points. Do not rely on a shovel with damaged or loose components for avalanche rescue.
Cleaning & Corrosion Prevention
Remove packed snow and grit after use, then dry the blade, shaft, grip, and joints completely. Avoid harsh chemicals and direct heat that could damage handle components or surface finishes.
Storage & Practice
Store the shovel disassembled or compacted as designed, with moving joints free of ice. Practice efficient shoveling and snowmobile recovery techniques as appropriate; rescue tools require regular hands-on training.
