BCA Dozer™ 1T-UL Avalanche Shovel

Our ultralight shovel for those looking to travel fast and light. We cored out the blade to shave weight without sacrificing on strength, while retaining our tried-and-true low profile stompable blade, cored out handle, and ovo-concave shaft.

7075 Aluminum Blade/Shaft
The 7075 aluminum construction reduces weight while retaining strength for rescue digging.
Extendable T-Grip
The extendable T-grip provides a compact packed shape and additional digging length.
Flat stomp edge blade
The flat upper blade edge provides a place to apply boot pressure in firm snow.

Assembly & Locking Check
Verify that the shaft and grip extend and lock securely before use.
Blade, Shaft & Grip Inspection
Check the blade for cracks or deformation and inspect the ovo-concave shaft, grip, holes, and locking points. Do not rely on a shovel with damaged or loose components for avalanche rescue.
Cleaning & Corrosion Prevention
Remove packed snow and grit after use, then dry the blade, shaft, grip, and joints completely. Avoid harsh chemicals and direct heat that could damage handle components or surface finishes.
Storage & Practice
Store the shovel disassembled or compacted as designed, with moving joints free of ice. Practice efficient shoveling and snowmobile recovery techniques as appropriate; rescue tools require regular hands-on training.
