Line Sakana Skis

An icon gets rowdy. We took the surfy swallowtail feel of the original Sakana and rebuilt it for skiers who hit rails spin sidehits and stomp in the park. Now with a slightly kicked-up tial for smoother switch landings - plus Thick -Cut Sidewalls Bio-Resin and Thin Tips for durability that shrugs off rails and laps for days. Same carve-weird slash-happy energy. Just rebuilt tougher with more freestyle.

Shape, Sidecut & Flex
5CUT™ Multi-Radius Sidecut: FIVE different radiuses are blended into the ski’s sidecut. The result? A wide variety of turn shapes and an intuitive feel. DIRECTIONAL FLEX: The softer tip floats & initiates turns easily while the stiffer tail provides power, stability & high speed control. EARLY RISE: The tip and tail lift away from the snow to bring the contact points closer to the center of the ski. This increases a ski's lift in deep snow and allows it to engage more quickly on hardpack when rolled over on edge.
Durability & Ski Construction
Thick-Cut Sidewall: We've extended the amount of sidewall that stretches into the core of the ski while adding more material over the steel edges to increase the total bonding surface area. This creates sidewalls more resilient to hard edge impacts, like sliding rails. Thin Tip™: We've extended the ski core to run through the tips and tails while creating a glass-on-glass bonding area in both the tip and the tail. SIDEWALL CONSTRUCTION: Vertical sidewalls that maximize power transfer to the edges. This design improves stability and grip at higher speeds.
Performance Construction
CARBON FLAX TAPE: Carbon Stringers offset by Flax Taping create added stiffness without the pingy, deflective properties of Carbon. SWALLOWTAIL: A dramatic tail knockout de-couples the farthest reaches of the effective edge while simultaneously forcing the tail of the ski down in soft snow. The result is a ski that can be ridden at shorter lengths without sacrificing performance.
Base & Edge
FATTY BASE & EDGE™: 30% thicker base & edge, 2mm wide x 2.5mm high steel edges and 1.7mm thick base dramatically increase durability and tuning life the skis. Sintered Base: A dense, high‑performance base that absorbs wax efficiently for superior glide. Known for speed and durability across snow types.
Materials
Biobased Resin: A resin formulation containing 31% biobased carbon content. Designed to deliver strong bonding performance and enhanced cold-temperature durability while incorporating renewable plant-derived materials into the construction.

After Skiing
Wipe snow and moisture from the Sakana skis after each session, including the topsheets, edges, bases, and binding area. Dry them thoroughly before putting them in a ski bag or storing them.
Base and Edge Maintenance
Inspect the bases for scratches, core shots, and dryness, and check the edges for burrs, rust, cracks, or impact damage. Wax the bases regularly and have significant base or edge damage repaired by a qualified ski technician.
Construction Inspection
After hard impacts or rail use, inspect the tips, tails, sidewalls, topsheets, and edge bonds for cracks, delamination, or deformation. Stop using damaged skis until a qualified technician has assessed them.
Binding Checks
Check that binding screws and components remain secure and free of snow or grit. Do not ski with loose or damaged hardware, and have a certified technician handle mounting, boot-sole verification, adjustment, forward pressure, and release testing.
Storage
Clean and dry the skis, then store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heaters, and heavy loads. Apply protective storage wax for the off-season and have the binding system inspected before the next season.
