Metropolitan Women's Snowboard

Engineered to instill confidence in the beginner women's boarder — the Metropolitan is the ultimate tool to develop skills and keep them coming back for more. A directional twin shape topped off with K2's Catch-Free™ Tune makes learning to ride both regular and switch as easy as possible, with the board feeling identical in either direction. The Rocker Profile with Catch-Free Tune keeps the board flat between the bindings and rockered just outside, delivering easy turn initiation and effortless release of every turn — fewer falls, less time taking breaks, more time on the mountain, and faster progression.

Catch-Free™ Tune
K2's beginner-specific shaping tune — blunted contact points and softer tip and tail for catch-free turns. Makes learning how to ride both regular and switch as easy as possible, with the board feeling identical in either direction. The single biggest confidence booster for new riders.
Rocker Profile
Flat between the bindings and rockered just outside — delivers easy turn initiation and effortless release of every turn. The forgiving profile means fewer catches, less time taking breaks, more time on the mountain, and faster progression for new riders.
Rhythm™ Core
A women's-specific core construction tuned for the way women ride. Lightweight, vibration-absorbing, and balanced across the size range — gives the board a lively but predictable feel that builds rider confidence run after run.
Directional Twin Shape
A directional twin outline that's symmetrical underfoot but with directional feel in the bindings — perfect for learning switch riding because the board feels identical riding in either direction. The true-twin flex pattern gives the rider confidence to spin, press, and ride switch from day one.
Extruded 2000 Base
K2's affordable extruded base formula — tough, durable, and easy to repair. Slower than sintered bases but holds up to the inevitable dings of learning, and P-Tex candles work for routine base repairs.
2 x 4 Insert Pattern
Standard 2 x 4 mounting pattern with plenty of stance width options for new riders finding their preferred stance. As the rider progresses, the inserts allow for stance width adjustment — typical progression is to widen stance as confidence and skill grow.
Beginner Confidence Design
Every design choice supports the beginner progression: Catch-Free Tune for catch-free edges, Rocker Profile for easy turn release, Extruded 2000 base for durability, and a directional twin shape that feels the same forward or switch. The Metropolitan is built to keep new riders coming back for more.

Waxing
Wax every few riding days or any time the base looks dry, white, or slow. The Extruded 2000 base absorbs wax well — hot wax preferred for full saturation, rub-on for quick field top-ups. Extruded bases are more wax-tolerant than sintered and forgiving of slightly irregular schedules.
Edge Tuning
Sharpen edges with a file or stone when they feel dull, after hitting rocks, or at the start of each season. The Catch-Free Tune already softens the contact points for catch-free turns — only sharpen when truly needed, and detune the contact points more than you would on a higher-end board.
Storage
Store the board in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep it in a board bag or sleeve to protect the topsheet and base from scratches during transport.
Repairs
Wipe the base clean after each use and dry before storing. Repair base scratches and core shots promptly to prevent water damage. The Extruded 2000 base is easy to repair with P-Tex candles for routine dings — larger damage should go to a qualified tech.
Binding Mounting
The 2 x 4 insert pattern with centered stance geometry supports a true symmetrical mount for switch-friendly learning. Center the bindings around the mid-body for the classic true-twin feel engineered for catch-free progression.
