Almanac Snowboard

Designed to ride the entire resort and score an A+ in the turning category, the Almanac is the newest chapter in K2's Volume Shift™ snowboards — a purpose-engineered daily driver inspired by the Party Platter and Excavator that charts its own course. Camber underfoot pairs with raised contact points in the tip and tail for a comfortable, pivoty ride across the whole mountain. The wider-than-average outline means riders size down around 5cm from usual, and an additional set of front inserts lets you set the bindings back for extra float on deep days. From the ground up: Sintered 4000 base, BAP Core with sustainably harvested timber, bi-axial fiberglass, and tip-to-tail Carbon Backbone™ snapping ollies over slow signs.

Volume Shift™ Sizing
A wider-than-average perimeter construction that lets riders size down around 5cm from their usual board length. Effective edge stays full so you don't lose contact with the snow, while the wider waist reduces toe drag and increases float per centimeter of length.
Carbon Backbone™
A pre-cambered carbon stringer centered between the inserts and running the full length of the board. Adds the snap and pop needed for every ollie and takeoff, without adding torsional stiffness that would lock the board into one carve path.
BAP Core
K2's tri-blend wood core — Bamboo, Aspen, and Paulownia, all sustainably harvested. The bamboo delivers rebound and strength, the aspen adds reliable feel, and the paulownia keeps the overall weight low for a board that feels lively underfoot.
Combination Camber Profile
Camber zones underfoot for the energy and edge hold you want in and out of turns, with rocker sections softening the feel when you're not actively loading the board. Camber underfoot with raised contact points in the tip and tail make the Almanac comfortable across the whole mountain.
Bi-Axial Fiberglass
A bi-axial fiberglass weave that delivers a fluid, predictable feel from edge to edge — a more forgiving ride than the tri-axial layups used on K2's more aggressive boards. Pairs with the BAP Core for a forgiving, easy-to-ride character.
Tapered Directional Shape (Volume Shift™)
Directional outline with taper, sized using Volume Shift™ geometry. The wider-than-average waist width combined with the directional taper gives natural float in soft snow without sacrificing the responsive feel of a standard-width board.
Setback Insert Pack
An additional set of inserts for the front binding lets you set your bindings back from the standard mounting position for extra float on deep days. Center the bindings for a more pivoty, switch-friendly stance on hardpack.

Waxing
Wax every few riding days or any time the base looks dry, white, or slow. The Sintered 4000 base absorbs wax deeply — hot wax preferred for full saturation, rub-on for quick field top-ups. The stone finish speeds absorption.
Edge Tuning
Sharpen edges with a file or stone when they feel dull, after hitting rocks, or at the start of each season. The directional shape favors forward charging — detune the rear contact point slightly for a less catchy tail release on hardpack.
Storage
Store the board in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep it in a board bag or sleeve to protect the topsheet and base from scratches during transport.
Repairs
Wipe the base clean after each use and dry before storing. Repair base scratches and core shots promptly to prevent water damage. The Hybritech sidewall construction is durable but lighter than full sidewall — larger damage should go to a qualified tech to preserve the board's flex profile.
Sizing & Binding Mounting
VolumeShift design means riders can size down around 5cm from their usual length — useful for smaller riders or anyone wanting a more maneuverable board. The 2 x 4 insert pattern plus additional front inserts lets you mount centered for a balanced ride or shifted rear for deep-day float.
