Control II vs. Control Cockpit — What's New
The Control II is the second generation of the Control cockpit, designed alongside the Epic 9. Key differences: the Control II is 10g lighter (240g vs. 250g), has a 760mm width vs. 780mm, a slight 5mm rise instead of flat, and a -6° stem angle instead of -12°. The Control II is also narrower overall — optimized for aggressive XC racing where maneuverability in tight singletrack matters.
240g — Lightest Roval Cockpit
At 240g (70mm × 760mm), the Control II is the lightest Roval cockpit — 10g lighter than the Control Cockpit and 30g lighter than the Alpinist II. This is the ultra-lightweight choice for XC racing where every gram matters and you've already sorted everything else on the bike.
9° Backsweep — More Ergonomic Than Control
The Control II has 9° backsweep (vs. 8° on the Control Riser and Control Cockpit). This is a subtle but meaningful adjustment — slightly more backsweep means the bar feels more natural in your hands in an aggressive XC position. The 3° upsweep (vs. 1-2° on other models) complements the steeper backsweep for a wrist-friendly grip.
