250g — Lighter Than the Alpinist
The Control Cockpit comes in at 250g (70mm × 780mm) — 20g lighter than the Alpinist Cockpit II's 270g. The Control is the ultra-lightweight XC choice, while the Alpinist is optimized for all-day road/gravel comfort with more damping. Same integrated concept, different priorities.
780mm with Cut Marks — Customize Your Width
The 780mm end-to-end width includes cut marks, so you can trim it down to your preferred width — common practice in XC racing where narrower bars improve maneuverability in tight singletrack. This gives you the flexibility to run anywhere from ~760mm down to ~720mm depending on your preference and riding style.
-12° Stem vs. -6° — XC vs. Road
The Control Cockpit's -12° integrated stem is steeper than the Alpinist's -6° — this is a fundamental difference between XC and road geometries. The steeper -12° stem puts you in a more aggressive, forward position optimized for laying down power on climbs and sprinting, while the -6° on the Alpinist is more upright and comfortable for long days on the road.
