Roval Alpinist Seatpost
Roval Alpinist Seatpost
Carbon Seatpost · 136g · 27.2mm · 12mm Setback · 2-Bolt Micro-Adjust

The Roval Alpinist Seatpost is the lightest post Roval has ever made that passes their standards — at 136 grams (27.2mm × 300mm), it's about as light as you'll find. Not only does light weight make for faster climbing and better acceleration, it also improves ride quality. The 2-bolt micro-adjust clamp with extended saddle cradle ensures precise fit and secure retention, and it's backed by a no-fault crash replacement policy and lifetime warranty.

  • 136g: Ultra-lightweight carbon post (27.2mm × 300mm) — Roval's lightest ever.
  • 2-Bolt Micro-Adjust: 46mm saddle rail cradle — effective offset from 0mm to 20mm.
  • 12mm Setback: All sizes include 12mm setback for proper saddle positioning.
  • 2 Sizes: 27.2mm × 300mm and 27.2mm × 360mm.
  • Carbon + Alloy Compatible: Works with carbon and alloy rail saddles.
  • No-Fault Crash Replacement: Lifetime crash replacement policy.

27.2mm is the standard road seatpost diameter — confirm your frame accepts 27.2mm before ordering. The Alpinist is designed for road bikes where every gram matters and a 27.2mm post is the frame standard.

136g — What You Give Up for Ultra-Light
At 136g, the Alpinist is one of the lightest seatposts available. The trade-off for ultra-light weight is minimal material — you get a very slender post with thin walls. If you're a lightweight rider who prioritizes climbing performance, this post is excellent. If you're a heavier rider or you regularly put down serious power through the saddle, you might prefer a slightly heavier post with more material for durability. The no-fault crash replacement helps mitigate the durability concern.
0mm to 20mm Offset from a 12mm Setback Post
The Alpinist has a 12mm built-in setback, but the 2-bolt clamp allows 46mm of saddle adjustment forward/back. This effectively gives you 0mm to 20mm of setback depending on how you position the saddle in the clamp — the 12mm is the center of the adjustment range. Most riders will find their perfect position within this range.
Carbon Rails vs. Alloy Rails — Compatibility
The Alpinist's 2-bolt clamp with 46mm rail cradle is compatible with both carbon and alloy saddle rails. The wide saddle rail contact area distributes clamping force evenly, which is actually better for carbon rails than narrow clamps that can create point loads. If you have a carbon-railed saddle, the Alpinist is a good match — just don't over-tighten the bolts.
