Völkl Blaze Jr. Skis

The Blaze Jr. brings the easy-handling freeride character of the Blaze line to younger skiers. Its 86 mm waist covers groomers and softer snow, while tip-and-tail rocker and a forgiving flex keep the ski playful and approachable. The 3D Radius Sidecut allows a mix of short and longer turns, and the lightweight construction also makes the Blaze Jr. a practical option for occasional junior ski touring with appropriate equipment.

Junior Blaze Versatility
An 86 mm waist balances groomer agility with enough width for soft-snow exploration.
3D Radius Sidecut
Longer tip and tail radii and a tighter center radius let young skiers vary turn shape with less effort.
Playful Rocker Profile
Tip-and-tail rocker supports easy turn initiation and a looser feel in softer or uneven snow.
Lightweight Touring Potential
The light construction suits occasional junior touring when paired with appropriate bindings, skins, boots, and professional guidance.

Binding Setup

Drying and Daily Care
Wipe snow and moisture from the skis after each day on the mountain. Dry the topsheets, sidewalls, edges, and binding interfaces thoroughly with a soft cloth. Avoid prolonged storage on wet vehicle racks or in a sealed ski bag.
Base and Edge Maintenance
Inspect the bases and edges regularly for scratches, core shots, burrs, rust, and edge separation. Have base damage repaired promptly and keep the edges properly tuned for current snow conditions. Wax the bases regularly with a wax suited to current snow conditions to maintain glide and help protect them from dryness.
Construction Inspection
Inspect the topsheet, sidewalls, core, and structural components for cracks, delamination, or impact damage. Pay particular attention to the 3D Radius Sidecut; lightweight junior freeride construction. Do not ski on structural damage; have it assessed by a qualified ski technician before further use.
Touring and Skin Care
Check the skin-attachment interface before each tour. Dry climbing skins thoroughly after use and store them according to the skin manufacturer’s instructions. Inspect touring bindings, brakes or leashes, boots, and other safety equipment as a complete system before every objective.
Junior Binding Checks
An authorized technician should confirm that the binding model, release range, boot-sole compatibility, sole-length adjustment, forward pressure, and release test are appropriate for the skier. Recheck the setup after boot changes, significant growth, or any binding work.
Off-Season Storage
Clean and dry the skis, tune away edge burrs, and apply a protective storage wax to the bases. Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heaters, and heavy loads. Avoid leaving the skis tightly strapped or compressed for extended periods.
