Cleaning After Runs
Rinse off mud and trail debris with a garden hose or under a faucet — avoid pressure washers which can force water past the upper seams and into the DREAM nitrogen-TPU midsole, and can damage the SURFACE CTRL™ rubber outsole lugs over time. Remove the laces to clean debris from the tongue wings and lacing eyelets separately.
Drying
Remove the insoles if they are removable. Stuff the toes with newspaper or paper towels to absorb moisture and maintain shape. Air dry at room temperature away from direct heat or sunlight — never use a dryer, radiator, or fireplace, which can warp the DREAM nitrogen-TPU midsole, delaminate the VECTIV™ 3.0 TPU plate, and damage the SURFACE CTRL™ rubber outsole.
DREAM Nitrogen-TPU Midsole Care
The DREAM nitrogen-TPU midsole is more durable and longer-lasting than standard EVA foams, but extreme heat is still its enemy — never leave the shoes in a hot car trunk, in direct summer sun, or near any heat source for extended periods. Heat can permanently deform the nitrogen-TPU midsole and degrade the VECTIV™ 3.0 plate's geometry, killing the propulsion and stability the shoe was built around.
VECTIV™ 3.0 Plate Inspection
Periodically check the VECTIV™ 3.0 TPU plate by feeling under the midsole for cracks or damage — the plate is the structural heart of the shoe's propulsion and stability system, and a damaged plate compromises both. If the plate shows signs of fatigue or the shoe suddenly loses its propulsion feel, retire it from training and consider replacement.
Lace + Tongue Wing Care
Periodically check the integrated tongue wings and laces — the tongue wings provide the heel and midfoot lockdown that prevents heel lift on technical descents, and they can wear or tear under heavy use. If a tongue wing starts to separate from the upper, the shoe should be retired from race-duty use even if the rest of the shoe is still functional. Replace laces when they fray rather than waiting for them to snap mid-run.
Outsole Maintenance
Periodically clear the 4 mm lugs of embedded mud and debris — stones and grit caught in the tread reduce traction and accelerate wear on the SURFACE CTRL™ rubber. A small brush or pick works well for cleaning between lugs after muddy trail runs.
Storage
Store the shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight — UV exposure over time can degrade the dual-warp mesh upper, fade the recycled content, and degrade the DREAM nitrogen-TPU midsole's energy-return properties. Don't store wet, and don't compress the shoes under heavy gear for extended periods, which can deform the VECTIV™ 3.0 TPU plate geometry.
