Technology

THERMOBALL™
Lightweight synthetic insulation that retains warmth even when wet — ideal for waterproof boots
Vibram® XS Trek EVO
Vibram® compound formulated for grip, traction, and durability across varied terrain
Base Camp Duffel DNA
Upper construction inspired by the iconic Base Camp Duffel
Cleaning
Remove loose dirt and grit with a soft brush before they get embedded in the rugged upper or the Vibram® XS Trek EVO lugs. Wipe the upper with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap if needed — do not use harsh detergents or bleach, which can break down the THERMOBALL™ insulation's loft and the waterproof membrane.
Drying
Air dry at room temperature away from direct heat and sunlight. Remove the insole and loosen the laces so airflow reaches all interior surfaces. Do not place near radiators, fireplaces, or hot air vents — heat can deform the EVA shell and midsole and damage the THERMOBALL™ insulation.
Waterproof Membrane
The internal waterproof membrane keeps feet dry but cannot be machine-washed or tumble-dried — both will damage the membrane and the seam-seal. Re-treat the upper periodically with a spray-on DWR to maintain surface water repellency; never saturate the boot or soak it.
Vibram® XS Trek EVO Outsole
Clear mud, debris, and small stones from the multi-directional lugs with a stiff brush after each use to preserve traction and prevent long-term buildup. Inspect the lugs periodically — worn-down lugs reduce grip on ice and snow. Avoid prolonged contact with petroleum-based products (gasoline, solvents) which can degrade the Vibram rubber compound.
EVA Shell & Midsole
The internal EVA shell and injected EVA shell midsole are protective and cushioning but can crack if stored folded or forced into tight ski racks. Don't leave the boots in sub-freezing temperatures for extended periods, and avoid excessive heel impact on hard concrete — both can stress the EVA foam.
THERMOBALL™ Insulation
THERMOBALL™ 100% recycled polyester retains warmth even when wet, but should still be allowed to fully air-dry between wears to prevent mildew and odor. If the loft compresses over time, gentle hand-fluffing while damp restores the loft before drying.
Lacing & Hardware
The lace-up boot is constructed with the same rugged DNA as the Base Camp Duffel. Always fully unlace before removing the boot to avoid wearing the eyelets; replace frayed laces immediately to maintain a secure lockdown fit. Inspect the metal eyelets and speed hooks (if equipped) for corrosion after wet use.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep footwear loosely laced (or unlaced) and lightly stuffed with paper or a boot shaper to maintain shape and allow the THERMOBALL™ insulation to loft.
