3/4 length (21.5" inseam on size medium) eliminates the bulk and friction that a full-length base layer bottom creates inside a boot. A traditional full-length bottom bunches at the ankle where the boot's cuff squeezes the fabric, creating friction hot spots on the shin and a pressure point at the boot top. The 3/4 length ends just below the knee — above the boot cuff, above the sock top, in the zone where the boot isn't squeezing the fabric. Built for ski boots, hiking boots, and running shoes where boot fit matters more than full-leg coverage.

Fabric helps combine the moisture management, temperature regulation, and odor resistance of 100% Merino wool with interlock knit for comfort. No synthetic core, no nylon wrap, no elastane — pure Merino against the skin for the natural temperature regulation and odor resistance that pure Merino delivers. The interlock knit creates a dense, smooth, double-faced fabric that holds its shape, traps warm air, and feels soft against the leg without the itch a coarser wool blend can develop.
250g/m² Midweight — Built For Cold-Weather Layering
Midweight 250g/m² interlock knit positions this bottom as the right weight for cold-weather layering — warmer than the lightweight All-Season base layer, lighter than the heavyweight Thermal Merino Sport base layer. The right weight when a lightweight bottom would chill on a cold lift ride and a heavyweight would overheat on the climb back up. Tuned for the wide temperature range of a full ski day, a winter hike, or a cold-morning run.
Slim Fit — Redesigned To Reduce Sag
A newly redesigned base layer pants fit helps reduce sag and excess fabric — the slim fit is intended to follow the contours of the body without excess bulk, and the redesigned cut eliminates the bag and sag a traditional base layer bottom develops at the knee and ankle over a long wear day. The slim fit layers cleanly under hiking pants, ski pants, snow bibs, or running tights without the bunching a less-tailored cut would create.
Fully Functional Fly
Fully functional fly — the men's-specific fly construction adds practical convenience without compromising the slim fit or the bulk-free boot profile. The fly is knit into the interlock rather than added as a sewn-in panel, so it doesn't create a seam or bulk point at the front.
Merino-Lined Elastic Waistband
Merino-lined elastic waistband designed for comfort — the elastic band sits against the skin with a Merino interlock liner rather than the exposed elastic or polyester binding a standard base layer waistband uses. The Merino liner prevents the binding and irritation a traditional elastic waistband creates at the waist during a long wear day, and it keeps the waistband from rolling down at the hip during high-output movement.
Flatlock Seam Construction
Flatlock seam construction designed to help increase comfort and minimize chafing — the seams are sewn flat rather than raised, so they don't dig into the skin or create friction hot spots under a pack's hip belt, a harness, or a mid-layer. The flatlock construction matters most on a base layer that gets worn day after day across long ski days and multi-day tours where chafing would end the trip.

Washing
Machine wash warm on a gentle cycle. Wash with like colors — the 100% Merino interlock knit benefits from isolated washing to protect the fabric's natural moisture-management and odor-resistant properties. Warm water is allowed on this midweight interlock (warmer than the cold-only spec on the heavyweight Merino Sport base layers) because the interlock knit tolerates the warmer wash that helps release body oils and sweat from a high-wear piece. Use a mild, technical wash; avoid fabric softeners (they coat the Merino fibers and reduce natural moisture management).
Drying
Tumble dry low. The 100% Merino interlock knit tolerates low-heat tumble drying without distorting the 3/4 length construction or shrinking the pure Merino fibers. Low heat restores the loft of the interlock knit and the recovery of the waistband elastic. Do not tumble dry on medium or high heat; high heat can shrink the Merino and felt the interlock knit, which would ruin the slim fit and the bulk-free boot profile.
Bleach & Iron
Do not bleach. Cool iron as needed — do not iron decoration. Bleach breaks down Merino wool fibers and degrades the interlock knit's structure. Iron only on low heat and only on the non-decorated fabric areas; high heat can scorch the pure Merino and flatten the interlock loft.
Dry Cleaning
Do not dry clean. The harsh solvents used in commercial dry cleaning strip the natural lanolin from Merino and degrade the interlock knit's natural performance — both of which are core to the fabric's thermal and moisture-management properties.
Storage
Store folded in a dry, breathable space. Merino's natural odor resistance means the same bottom covers multiple wear days between washes, which extends the fabric's lifespan and makes this a true workhorse layering piece. Folded storage preserves the interlock knit's structure and the waistband's recovery; hanging for long periods can stretch the interlock out at the knee.
