Women's Summit Series Breithorn Hoodie
Insulated Hooded Jacket · Women · 800-Fill ProDown™ · Pertex® Y Fuse · 13.47 oz · Summit Series

We don't just say it, we live by it: Athlete Tested. Expedition Proven. It might look like a puffer, but this jacket has been put to the test in some of the harshest conditions on earth. That's how we innovate — we find the crux, improve our beta and build it better. Adapted to the high alpine as a flexible mid layer or as an uncompromising outer layer, it thrives no matter where you take it. With highly compressible, water-repellent 800-fill ProDown™, you can move lighter and faster through the mountains or the daily elements. Engineered for mobility. Cut for precision. This is Summit Series. This is the Breithorn.

800-Fill ProDown™ Insulation
800-fill ProDown™ is a natural down insulation enhanced with a hydrophobic finish that allows it to dry faster than untreated down — delivers the highest warmth-to-weight ratio in TNF's down line, and the hydrophobic treatment prevents the down from collapsing and losing loft when wet, keeping you warm in damp alpine conditions where standard down would fail.
Pertex® Y Fuse Fabric
Pertex® Y Fuse fabric increases the downproof and water-beading properties of the shell — tightly woven construction prevents down feathers from migrating through the face fabric, while the Y Fuse finish enhances the natural water-shedding surface for light rain and snow protection without an additional DWR layer.
15D Recycled Nylon Ripstop
Body fabric is 15D 30 g/m² recycled nylon ripstop with non-PFC DWR finish — among the lightest weight-class shells TNF uses in Summit Series, balancing packability and tear-resistance while reducing landfill waste and the use of virgin materials.
Climbing-Helmet-Compatible Hood
Attached, adjustable, climbing-helmet-compatible hood with a pre-tensioned elastic opening and a cinch-cord with a cord lock in back — fits over a climbing or mountaineering helmet without bunching, seals out wind and snow at the crown, and adjusts easily with gloves on.
YKK® VISLON® Center Front Zip
Exposed #3 YKK® VISLON® center front zip with an insulated internal draft flap — the chunky plastic-toothed YKK VISLON® zipper is reliable in cold conditions and easy to operate with gloves, while the internal draft flap blocks wind and prevents cold air from penetrating the front zip line.
Raglan Sleeves + Underarm Gussets
Raglan sleeves and underarm gussets give full arms-up mobility for climbing, scrambling, and reaching — eliminates shoulder seam pressure points and the binding that standard armhole construction can cause when extending the arms overhead, critical for high-output mountaineering movements.
Stows in Left Hand Pocket
Compresses down and stows in the left hand pocket — turns into a self-contained stuff sack for clipping to a harness, stuffing into a pack, or carrying as a pillow on rest breaks, without needing a separate compression sack.
Water-Resistant Reverse-Coil Pocket Zips
Chest pocket and hand pockets with exposed, water-resistant, reverse-coil zips — keep phone, gloves, snacks, and small essentials secure and protected from snow and light rain, with the reverse-coil teeth sitting flush against the pocket for a clean look.
Two Large Internal Drop-In Pockets
Two large, internal drop-in pockets — sized for skins, a beanie, gloves, maps, snacks, or any layer you want to dump heat from, accessible without unzipping the jacket when the hand pockets are full or being used for other items.
Stretch-Knit Cuffs
Stretch-knit cuffs provide a close-to-wrist fit that seals out cold air and snow — eliminate the bulk of Velcro® adjustments for a cleaner silhouette under shell gloves or mittens, and stretch to fit over or under gloves depending on layering.
Internal Hem Cinch-Cord
Internal hem cinch-cord with a single-point adjustment — seals in body heat at the waist without adding bulk to the hem, and the single-point adjustment is reachable from inside the hand pocket so you can dial in the fit on the fly.
Summit Series Athlete-Tested Build
Built under TNF's Summit Series standard — TNF's premium mountaineering line engineered with athletes for high-altitude, expedition-grade objectives and tested in some of the harshest conditions on earth before it ships. Passes the same durability, fit, and performance bar as TNF's expedition pieces, sized for high-alpine objectives.

Washing
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a down-specific, technical-fabric detergent — use a cleaner designed for down (like Nikwax Down Wash) to preserve the 800-fill ProDown™ loft and the hydrophobic finish. Avoid regular detergents, bleach, fabric softeners, and optical brighteners, which can strip the hydrophobic treatment from the ProDown™, degrade the Pertex® Y Fuse fabric's downproof finish, and reduce the non-PFC DWR finish's effectiveness over time.
Drying
Tumble dry on low heat with 2-3 clean tennis balls or dryer balls — the agitation helps break up clumps in the ProDown™ and restore loft after washing. Drying takes longer than for a synthetic jacket (typically 2-3 cycles to fully dry the down). Make sure the jacket is completely dry before storing — even slightly damp down can clump, lose loft, and develop mildew.
ProDown™ Maintenance
The ProDown™ hydrophobic finish lasts for the life of the down under normal use, but can be refreshed with a down-specific re-proofing treatment (like Nikwax Down Proof) if the jacket starts wetting out instead of shedding water. Periodically check the down for clumps — small clumps can be broken up by hand and the jacket re-tumbled with dryer balls to restore loft.
Pertex® Y Fuse Care
Pertex® Y Fuse fabric is tightly woven to prevent down migration — avoid aggressive abrasion on the face fabric (like repeated pack-strap friction without a reinforcement patch) which can wear through the weave and let down escape. Repair small abrasions promptly with a down jacket repair patch to prevent down loss.
Zipper Care
Keep the YKK® VISLON® center front zipper, the water-resistant reverse-coil pocket zippers, and any other exposed zippers clean and free of debris — periodically brush them lightly with a soft brush to clear dust from the teeth. The VISLON® chunky plastic-toothed design is cold-weather tolerant, but grit stuck in the teeth can still cause sticking.
Hood + Cuffs
Periodically check the climbing-helmet-compatible hood's pre-tensioned elastic and the cinch-cord lock — elastic loses stretch over time with heavy use, and cord locks can fail if grit accumulates inside the lock channel. The stretch-knit cuffs should be checked for pilling or fraying, especially after hard use in rocky terrain.
Storage
Store the Breithorn uncompressed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight — long-term compression (stuffed in a stuff sack for months) damages ProDown™ loft permanently and reduces thermal performance. Use a large cotton storage sack or hang the jacket on a wide hanger in a closet. UV exposure degrades the Pertex® Y Fuse face fabric and fades the shell over time.
