Mindbender 96 W Skis - Women's

All-mountain ace. The Mindbender 96 W blends stability and energy for women who want it all — groomers in the morning, soft snow by lunch, mixed conditions on the way down. Dark Matter smooths the ride so variable snow doesn't shake you, while a Titanal I-Beam keeps things lively edge to edge. Quick when you need it, confident when you push it, and ready for every kind of day on the hill.

Dark Matter Damping
"Dark Matter smooths the ride so variable snow doesn't shake you" — K2's Dark Matter technology is a vibration-dampening layer strategically placed in the ski to absorb chatter and high-frequency vibration before it reaches the skier. The result is a calmer, more composed ride in variable and chopped-up snow — exactly when you need the ski to stay settled and predictable.
Titanal I-Beam
"A Titanal I-Beam keeps things lively edge to edge" — a full-length Titanal (aluminum alloy) I-beam running through the center of the ski adds edge-to-edge energy and response without the weight of a full Titanal topsheet. The I-beam shape gives the ski a quick, lively feel underfoot while keeping the tip and tail lighter for easier turn initiation.
Aspen Paulownia Core
Blends durable aspen with lightweight paulownia to reduce overall weight without sacrificing strength. Aspen provides stability and snap, while paulownia increases efficiency and maneuverability. At 1630g per ski @ 168 cm, the Mindbender 96 W is light enough for all-day skiing but still stable enough for charging.
All-Terrain Rocker
Blends gradual tip rocker with traditional camber underfoot for versatility across conditions. Rocker improves turn initiation and float in soft snow, while camber delivers edge hold and stability on hardpack — a profile that matches the Mindbender 96 W's all-mountain mission.
96 mm Waist Width
The 96 mm waist is the sweet spot for a true one-ski quiver — wide enough to float in soft snow and provide a stable platform at speed, narrow enough to rail groomers and feel quick edge-to-edge. The 135-96-123 dimensions show a slight tip and tail taper for a touch of directional bias without going full powder ski.
Women's Specific Mount
Designed around women's specific mount points for natural balance and easier turn initiation. The mount point is optimized for women's biomechanics — slightly forward of the men's version to compensate for typical differences in center of gravity.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a ski bag for transport and storage to protect the bases, edges, and topsheets from damage.
Base Care
Wax regularly (every 5-10 ski days) with a quality ski wax matched to snow temperature to maintain base glide and protect the ski from drying out.
Edge Care
Sharpen and deburr edges as needed to maintain edge hold on hardpack and ice. Check edges periodically for rust or damage, especially after wet snow days.
Binding Maintenance
Have bindings inspected and tested annually by a certified technician. DIN settings should be matched to skier weight, height, ability, and boot sole length.

🔩 Component Breakdown
Dark Matter Technology
"Injected TPU inserts, weighted with powdered stainless steel, are integrated into the core at enhanced stability points. These locations are fine-tuned to each model and size to amplify performance and purpose." — "Dark Matter smooths the ride so variable snow doesn't shake you."
Enhanced Stability Points
"Enhanced Stability Points reinforce critical areas of the ski to improve edge grip and torsional control. By strengthening high-load zones, K2 increases confidence and predictability during aggressive turns. This technology helps skis track more consistently at speed and through variable terrain, delivering a planted feel without adding unnecessary stiffness or weight."
Titanal I-Beam
"Titanal I-Beam construction reinforces the ski with a central Titanal laminate shaped to maximize strength and precision. This design enhances torsional stiffness and power transfer while maintaining smooth flex. The result is improved edge grip, stability, and control, ideal for frontside and all-mountain skis built for confident carving." — "Keeps things lively edge to edge."
All-Terrain Rocker
"Blends gradual tip rocker with traditional camber underfoot for versatility across conditions. The rocker improves turn initiation and float, while camber delivers edge hold and stability. Designed to perform on groomers, crud, and light powder, it offers predictable response for everyday all-mountain skiing in mixed terrain and seasons."
Aspen Paulownia Core
"Blends durable aspen with lightweight paulownia to reduce overall weight without sacrificing strength. Aspen provides stability and snap, while paulownia increases efficiency and maneuverability. This core creates a balanced ride that feels energetic yet composed, ideal for modern all-mountain skis prioritizing versatility and reduced swing weight."
