Indy 1 Youth Ski Boots 2027

The K2 Indy 1 is the perfect first ski boot for young skiers. With a soft flex and easy-entry design, it provides comfort and confidence for little ones taking their first turns on the mountain.

2-Piece Shell Construction
Classic 2-piece overlap design — cuff and lower shell overlap with buckles for a secure, even wrap. Simpler than 3-piece construction for tiny feet: fewer moving parts, easier to handle on cold mornings, and lighter weight for small legs to carry around the lodge and parking lot.
Soft Flex
Soft flex rating means the boot flexes easily under minimal pressure — perfect for tiny legs that can't generate the force needed to flex a stiff adult boot. Young skiers can lean forward and feel the boot respond, building the muscle memory and confidence to progress without the boot fighting back.
Cushfit Jr. Liner
Cushfit Jr. liner is the entry-level youth construction — soft, warm, and cushioned for the comfort young skiers need on long days. Pre-shaped ankle pockets and a soft toe box accommodate the unique shape of small feet.
Easy-Entry Design
The Indy 1 is built around an easy-entry shell that opens wide for small feet to slide in without a fight. The buckle closure is positioned for easy reach, and the soft instep area doesn't create pressure points when the boot is being put on by a parent or by the young skier themselves.
Lightweight Construction
The entire boot is built for tiny legs — lightweight shell, lightweight liner, and lightweight hardware. Reduces fatigue on long days and makes the boot easier to carry between the car and the lodge.

Drying
Remove liners after each use and air dry at room temperature away from direct heat. Buckles should be stored open or loosely closed to allow airflow and prevent shell deformation. Never use a hair dryer or place boots on a radiator.
Shell Cleaning
Wipe the shell with a damp cloth to remove dirt and salt. Use a mild soap if needed. Avoid harsh solvents that can damage the shell material or buckle components. Keep the buckle mechanisms clean for reliable operation.
Liner Care
Remove Cushfit Jr. liners periodically for full air-drying. Hand-wash with lukewarm water and mild soap, then air-dry completely. Never machine wash or tumble dry. A clean liner keeps the boot fresh and prevents bacteria buildup.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Buckles should be left loose during long-term storage. For off-season, slip a rolled magazine or boot tree into each shell to maintain shape.

The Indy 1 runs in 14.5-18.5 mondo — K2's smallest youth ski boot size range, designed for the littlest skiers taking their first turns. The easy-entry design opens wide for small feet, and the soft flex means young legs don't have to fight a stiff boot to flex into a turn. Most parents size up 0.5-1 mondo to extend the boot's life as the child grows.

Cushfit Jr. Liner
Cushfit Jr. liner is the entry-level youth construction — soft, warm, and cushioned for the comfort young skiers need on long days. Pre-shaped ankle pockets and a soft toe box accommodate the unique shape of small feet. The Cushfit construction is less structured than Intuition but more forgiving for first-time skiers who need comfort over precision.
Less weight also means easier turning for skiers still building leg strength.
Youth-Specific Buckles
Micro-adjustable buckles sized for small fingers — easier for kids to operate themselves without adult help. The lever design is glove-friendly, and the micro-adjustment lets parents dial in the fit without over-tightening small feet. Two-buckle design keeps things simple for first-time skiers.
Warmth for Cold Mornings
The Cushfit Jr. liner is built for warmth in cold mountain conditions — important for young skiers who get cold faster than adults. The soft construction traps heat without adding bulk, and the boot dries overnight in a warm room so it's ready for the next morning's lesson.
Alpine Sole Compatibility
Standard Alpine soles compatible with all major youth bindings (K2, Marker, Salomon, Look, Tyrolia). The Alpine sole geometry matches the boot to the binding's ISO 5355 standard, ensuring consistent release values for the young rider's DIN setting.
Binding Compatibility
  • Alpine (ISO 5355) — standard alpine bindings with appropriate DIN range
  • Youth bindings: K2 Indy, Marker Free Ten, Salomon L6, Tyrolia SX 7.5
