Component Breakdown
Dark Matter Damping
Dark Matter — K2's proprietary damping material integrated into the ski core. Keeps the ride smooth when the snow turns chunky, reducing vibration and chatter at speed for a more planted, composed feel across variable conditions.
Titanal I-Beam
Titanal I-Beam reinforcement adds the backbone you need at speed without the dead swing weight that bogs you down in trees and tight spots. Strategic placement under the binding area for stability and edge hold.
All-Terrain Rocker Profile
All-Terrain Rocker — K2's versatile ski profile with tip rocker for float in soft snow plus camber underfoot for edge hold on hardpack. Balanced shape that excels from pow stashes to groomer arcs.
101mm Waist Width
101 mm waist width (reflected in the "101" name) — the versatile all-mountain width. Wide enough to float in powder and provide platform stability at speed, narrow enough to rail groomers and still be quick edge-to-edge.
Sintered Base
Sintered base — high-density, high-molecular-weight polyethylene for the best speed and durability. Absorbs and retains wax well, stands up to variable snow conditions.
Carbon-Strapped Core
Carbon fiber stringers integrated into the core for added pop and response without excess weight. The Dark Matter + Titanal + Carbon combination delivers the energetic, responsive feel that defines the Mindbender series.
Energetic, Responsive Feel
The Mindbender 101 is "versatile, energetic, and ready for whatever the day throws at you" — pop and response for freestyle maneuvers combined with stability for high-speed charging.
