7075 Aluminum Shaft
"Forged out of tough 7075 aluminum" — 7075 is a stronger aluminum alloy than the standard 6061 used in most ski poles. More durable and resistant to bending, making it the premium choice for aggressive freeride and touring use where the pole takes abuse.
Flipjaw Locking Mechanism
"K2's proprietary Flipjaw locking mechanism" — the defining feature of the pole. Flipjaw allows quick length adjustment for different conditions: longer for chairlift/flat skiing, shorter for skinning or steep terrain. The locking mechanism is fast and secure for on-the-fly adjustments.
Dual Injection Grip
Dual injection grip combines two rubber compounds for a soft, cushioned outer grip with a harder inner core for shape retention. Stays grippy in cold temps and absorbs shock on hard-snow pole plants better than hard plastic.

Storage
Store poles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid leaving them in a hot car where temperature swings can damage the grip and Flipjaw locking mechanism. A pole bag or wall rack in a climate-controlled space is ideal for long-term storage.
Grip Care
Wipe grips with a damp cloth to remove dirt and salt. Avoid petroleum-based cleaners that can degrade the rubber over time. The dual injection grip is durable enough for years of regular use without replacement.
Tip & Basket Maintenance
Inspect steel tips before each season for bends or dulling. Replace the tip if it's lost its point or bent beyond use. Check that the 70mm basket is secure and not cracked; replace if the basket no longer grips the shaft firmly.
Flipjaw Mechanism Care
Keep the Flipjaw locking mechanism clean of ice, snow, and debris. After each session, wipe the mechanism with a dry cloth and ensure it locks securely. Periodically check the locking tension and adjust if needed — the mechanism should hold firmly without slipping.
