The Women's Tek Approach Jacket is a wind-resistant soft shell layer built for gusty days. The wrap-around back panel adds comfort when wearing a pack and seam-reinforcement around the neck adds an extra layer of durability, so you can focus more on the terrain and less on your gear. Stretch fleece construction keeps the wind out without sacrificing breathability, and a non-PFC DWR finish sheds light rain and splash. Aimed at climbers, scramblers, and hikers who want a single layer that moves between approach, ridge, and belay station without needing a second shell.

Regular Fit
Cut close to the body with room for a base layer underneath — sits cleanly on the shoulders, layers under a harness or pack-hip belt without bunching, and moves with you on a high reach or a long stride.
Wind-Resistant WINDWALL™ Fleece
WINDWALL™ fabric is a stretch fleece engineered to block wind from penetrating the garment, cutting windchill on a gusty ridge or a fast descent. Brushed interior traps body heat without the bulk of a hard shell.
Non-PFC DWR Finish
Non-PFC durable water-repellent finish sheds light rain, snow, and splash — water beads up and rolls off the face fabric instead of saturating the fleece.
91% Recycled Polyester Body
Body fabric is 91% recycled polyester — performance without the virgin materials, with the stretch and durability of a well-loved soft shell.
FLASHDRY™ Collar Facing & Sleeve Pocket
Collar facing and sleeve pocket are built from FLASHDRY™ materials that actively pull moisture off the skin — no clamminess at the neck on a long climb, no sweat build-up against a chest harness.
Secure-Zip Hand Pockets
Reverse-coil secure-zip hand pockets hold gloves, snacks, and a phone without snagging on a pack-hip belt or a harness buckle. Zips tuck cleanly into the seam when not in use.
Bonded Sleeve Pocket
Bonded sleeve pocket with a reverse-coil, closed-end zip — sized for a compass, a route topo, or a small phone, and low-profile enough to stay out of the way under a pack-strap or a chest harness.
Mesh Pocket Bags
Mesh pocket bag linings let heat and moisture escape through the pockets — keeps the front of the jacket from turning into a sweat lodge on a steep ascent.
Elasticated Cuffs

Drawcord at Hem
Drawcord at the hem lets you cinch the jacket tight at the waist to seal out wind on a gusty ridge, or loosen it for ventilation on a hot approach.

Tumble dry low to reactivate the non-PFC DWR finish on the body. Skip dryer sheets — they leave a film that kills both water repellency and breathability.
Do Not Bleach or Iron
No bleach, no chlorine, no fabric softener, no iron. The DWR finish, the WINDWALL™ fleece, and the heat-transfer logos all break down under harsh chemistry or direct heat.
Re-Treat the DWR
When the body fabric stops beading water, refresh the non-PFC DWR finish with a spray-on or wash-in treatment to bring rain-shedding performance back.
Check the Neck Seam
Periodically inspect the seam-reinforcement tape at the neck — the highest-wear point on a soft shell. A loose thread caught early prevents a splitting seam later.
