Outdoor Research Women's Timberline Fleece Lined Pant 2026

Cold-Weather Versatility with Fleece-Lined Recycled Nylon and a Fine-Tuned Fit — the Timberline Fleece Lined Pant is built for cold trail miles, frosty summit pushes, and any day that demands warmth without sacrificing mobility. Constructed from bluesign® approved recycled nylon with a soft fleece interior, these pants blend rugged durability with low-profile insulation. They move with you thanks to a gusseted crotch and built-in stretch, while a DWR finish shrugs off light moisture. From wind-whipped ridgelines to cold morning starts, the Timberline brings breathable warmth and all-season versatility to log miles and move through the elements.

Cold-Weather Versatility
"Cold-Weather Versatility with Fleece-Lined Recycled Nylon" — the Timberline is designed for the hiker, climber, and outdoor enthusiast who needs reliable warmth without sacrificing mobility. The fleece-lined construction provides insulation for cold conditions, while the lightweight recycled nylon shell and stretch construction keep the pants mobile enough for active use.
Fleece-Lined Interior for Warmth
"A soft fleece interior" — the fleece lining provides low-profile insulation that traps warm air next to the skin without the bulk of traditional insulated pants. The fleece is soft against the skin for comfort during all-day wear, and it wicks moisture to keep the rider dry during high-output activities. The combination of the fleece lining and the recycled nylon shell provides weather-resistant warmth for cold trail days.
bluesign® Approved Recycled Nylon
"Constructed from bluesign® approved recycled nylon" — the shell fabric is made from recycled nylon, making the Timberline one of the more environmentally responsible insulated pant options. The bluesign® approval confirms the fabric meets strict environmental and safety standards. The recycled nylon is also durable enough to handle the abrasion of regular trail use.
Gusseted Crotch and Built-In Stretch
"They move with you thanks to a gusseted crotch and built-in stretch" — the gusseted crotch (a diamond-shaped fabric panel sewn into the crotch) provides extra room and freedom of movement for high steps, lunges, and dynamic activities. The built-in stretch in the fabric allows the pants to move naturally with the rider without restricting motion. Together, these features deliver all-day comfort during active use.
DWR Finish for Light Moisture
"A DWR finish shrugs off light moisture" — the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish on the outer shell fabric causes water to bead up and roll off the surface, preventing the outer fabric from becoming saturated. The DWR handles light rain, snow, and wet vegetation — not fully waterproof, but sufficient for most trail conditions. The DWR keeps the pants light and breathable in variable conditions.
Internal Drawcord Waist
"The internal drawcord waist dials in the fit" — the waist features an internal drawcord for a customizable, secure fit. The drawcord allows the rider to tighten or loosen the waist as needed for different layering (e.g., tighter for a baselayer, looser for thermal pants underneath). The internal design keeps the drawcord out of the way during use.
Zippered Left Thigh Pocket
"The zippered left thigh pocket locks down your essentials" — the thigh pocket is positioned for easy access while wearing a backpack or harness, and the zipper secures small items (phone, keys, snacks, map) from falling out during active use. The zippered closure is essential for technical terrain where loose items could fall out.
UPF 50+ Sun Protection
"UPF 50+ protection adds another layer of defense when the sun's out" — the fabric has a UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rating of 50+, the highest sun-protection rating. UPF 50+ blocks about 98% of UV radiation, making the Timberline an excellent choice for high-altitude hiking, alpine climbing, and snow activities where sun exposure is significant (snow reflects UV).
All-Season Versatility
"All-season versatility" — the Timberline is designed for use across multiple seasons and conditions. The fleece lining provides warmth for cold weather, while the breathable recycled nylon shell prevents overheating during high-output activities. The DWR finish handles light moisture, and the stretch construction allows full mobility. A versatile pant for spring, fall, and mild winter conditions.
Outdoor Research Quality and Infinite Guarantee®
Built by Outdoor Research — a Seattle-based outdoor gear company with decades of experience in technical apparel — the Timberline Fleece Lined Pant is backed by OR's Infinite Guarantee® (lifetime guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship). The combination of recycled materials, fleece insulation, and thoughtful design makes the Timberline a long-term investment for active outdoor use.

Washing
Machine wash the Timberline in cold water with a mild technical fabric wash (like Nikwax Tech Wash or Grangers Performance Wash). Avoid harsh detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners, which can damage the DWR finish, the fleece lining, and the recycled nylon shell fabric. Close all zippers before washing. Use a gentle cycle and rinse thoroughly.
Drying
Tumble dry the Timberline on low heat or hang to air dry. The recycled nylon fleece-lined construction dries moderately quickly. Avoid high heat, which can damage the DWR finish, the fleece lining, and any elastic components. If the pants are heavily soiled or have absorbed a lot of sweat, rinse thoroughly before drying to remove salt and body oils that can damage the fabric over time.
DWR Refresh
The DWR finish will wear off over time with use and washing. When water stops beading on the fabric surface (the fabric "wets out" and water soaks in), refresh the DWR with a wash-in or spray-on product (like Nikwax TX.Direct or Grangers Performance Repel). Apply per the product instructions, then tumble dry on low heat or iron on low with a cloth barrier to activate the DWR.
Storage
Store the Timberline in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid leaving the pants in direct sunlight for extended periods — UV exposure can degrade the DWR finish, the fleece lining, and the recycled nylon fabric over time. Don't store in a hot car — extreme heat can damage the materials. The pants can be folded or hung on clip hangers (avoid thin wire hangers that can damage the waistband).
Repair
Small tears or holes in the shell can be repaired with a patch (like Tenacious Tape) or by an outdoor gear repair service. For DWR failure, zipper damage, or seam issues, contact Outdoor Research for warranty service — the Infinite Guarantee® covers defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the product.
