Outdoor Research Women's Cirque Lite Pant - Short 2027

3-Season Versatility for Alpine Adventures — the Cirque Lite Pant is perfect for those who move fast and light on their alpine objectives. This SHORT inseam version is designed for riders who need a shorter pant length (typically 29-30" inseam vs the standard 31-32"), ideal for shorter individuals or those who prefer a more cropped fit. Made with a bluesign® approved nylon/spandex 90D double stretch weave, these breathable alpine pants offer movement-mirroring articulation that compliments the body's motions. As the premier 3-season alpine pant in the OR collection, the Cirque Lite Pant excels on long trad routes, summit attempts, and sunny glacier travel.

SHORT Inseam Version
This is the SHORT inseam version of the Cirque Lite Pant. The Short length provides a shorter inseam (typically 29-30" depending on size) compared to the standard Cirque Lite (which is typically 31-32" inseam). The Short version is ideal for shorter individuals, those who prefer a more cropped fit, or anyone who finds the standard length too long. Same materials, same features, same performance — just a shorter cut.
Lightweight, Fast and Light Alpine Use
"The Cirque Lite Pant is perfect for those who move fast and light on their alpine objectives" — the Cirque Lite is OR's premier 3-season alpine pant, designed for trad climbing, summit attempts, glacier travel, and any alpine activity where weight and mobility matter. The lightweight construction doesn't add bulk to the pack, and the stretch fabric moves naturally with the body during dynamic activity.
bluesign® Approved Nylon/Spandex 90D Double Stretch Weave
"Made with a bluesign® approved nylon/spandex 90D double stretch weave" — the 90D (denier) nylon is lightweight yet durable enough for alpine use, and the spandex blend provides stretch for full mobility. The "double stretch weave" means the fabric stretches in both directions (warp and weft) for unrestricted movement. The bluesign® approval confirms the fabric meets strict environmental and safety standards.
Movement-Mirroring Articulation
"Breathable alpine pants offer movement-mirroring articulation that compliments the body's motions" — the fabric's stretch and the pant's construction are designed to move with the body during dynamic alpine activity. The movement-mirroring fit prevents binding or restriction during high steps, lunges, and technical climbing moves.
DuraPrint™ Technology for Durability
"Strategically placed DuraPrint™ technology up the durability factor for long days in the mountains" — DuraPrint™ is OR's proprietary print technology that adds abrasion resistance to high-wear areas (knees, seat, cuffs) without adding weight or bulk. The print reinforces the fabric in the zones that get the most wear during alpine use, extending the life of the pants.
Gusseted Crotch and Articulated Knees
"The gusseted crotch and articulated knees further enhance mobility" — the gusseted crotch (a diamond-shaped fabric panel sewn into the crotch) and articulated knees (pre-shaped for the natural bend of the leg) allow for full range of motion during high steps, lunges, and dynamic climbing moves. The combination prevents binding and bunching during active use.
Integrated Adjustable Belt
"The integrated adjustable belt ensures a comfortable and custom fit" — the Cirque Lite has a built-in belt at the waist that can be adjusted for a personalized fit. The integrated design eliminates the need for a separate belt, and the adjustability accommodates different layering (thin base layer vs thick fleece midlayer) and different body shapes.
Wind and Water-Resistant
"The Cirque Lite Pant is wind and water-resistant" — the fabric has a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish and tight weave construction that provides wind and water resistance. The pants are NOT fully waterproof (no Gore-Tex membrane) but they handle wind, light rain, and wet conditions well. For full waterproof protection, layer them under shell pants in heavy precipitation.
3-Season Alpine Pant
"As the premier 3-season alpine pant in the OR collection, the Cirque Lite Pant excels on long trad routes, summit attempts, and sunny glacier travel" — the Cirque Lite is designed for spring, summer, and fall alpine use (3-season = the seasons when you don't need full winter insulation). The combination of lightweight construction, stretch, and wind/water resistance makes the Cirque Lite versatile for a wide range of alpine activities across three seasons.
Outdoor Research Quality and Infinite Guarantee®
Built by Outdoor Research — a Seattle-based outdoor gear company with decades of experience in technical apparel — the Cirque Lite Pant is backed by OR's Infinite Guarantee® (lifetime guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship). The combination of lightweight construction, DuraPrint™ durability, and alpine-specific design makes the Cirque Lite a long-term investment for serious alpine use.

Washing
Machine wash the Cirque Lite in cold water with a mild technical fabric wash (like Nikwax Tech Wash or Grangers Performance Wash). Avoid harsh detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners, which can damage the nylon/spandex fabric, the DuraPrint™ technology, the DWR finish, and the integrated belt. Close all zippers before washing. Use a gentle cycle and rinse thoroughly.
Drying
Tumble dry the Cirque Lite on low heat or hang to air dry. The nylon/spandex blend dries relatively quickly. Avoid high heat, which can damage the spandex stretch fibers, the DuraPrint™ print, and the DWR finish. If the pants are heavily soiled or have absorbed a lot of sweat, rinse thoroughly before drying to remove salt and body oils that can damage the fabric over time.
DWR Refresh
The DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish will wear off over time with use and washing. When water stops beading on the fabric surface (the fabric "wets out" and water soaks in), refresh the DWR with a spray-on product (like Nikwax TX.Direct Spray-On). Apply per the product instructions and allow to air dry. Don't use a wash-in DWR for the pants — the spray-on is easier to apply and more effective for a single item.
DuraPrint™ Inspection
Periodically inspect the DuraPrint™ print in the high-wear zones (knees, seat, cuffs). The print is designed to be durable, but heavy use in technical terrain (rock, ice, crampons) can wear through the print over time. If the print wears through in a critical zone, the underlying fabric remains waterproof, but the abrasion resistance is reduced. Contact Outdoor Research for warranty service if the print fails prematurely.
Storage
Store the Cirque Lite in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid leaving the pants in direct sunlight for extended periods — UV exposure can degrade the DWR finish and fade the colors over time. Don't store in a hot car — extreme heat can damage the spandex stretch fibers and the DuraPrint™ coating. The pants can be folded or hung.
Repair
Small tears or holes in the fabric can be repaired with a patch (like Tenacious Tape) or by an outdoor gear repair service. For DWR failure, seam issues, or DuraPrint™ degradation, contact Outdoor Research for warranty service — the Infinite Guarantee® covers defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the product.
