Exceptional Low-Bulk Warmth and Weather Resistance for Hiking, Trail Running, and Everyday Mountain Life — the Stowe Aerogel Glove is built for fast-moving winter pursuits, delivering lightweight warmth, dexterity, and technical performance, whether navigating windy ridgelines or daily mountain life. Engineered with Primaloft® Gold Insulation featuring Cross Core™ Technology, these gloves deliver exceptional warmth without bulk, enhanced by Aerogel for advanced thermal efficiency. Breathable and lightweight, they excel in active winter scenarios — combining warmth, dexterity, and packability in a versatile everyday winter glove.
Exceptional Low-Bulk Warmth
"Exceptional Low-Bulk Warmth" — the Stowe Aerogel Glove uses Primaloft® Gold Insulation with Cross Core™ Technology (which incorporates Aerogel) to deliver the warmth of a much bulkier glove in a low-profile, dexterous package. The result is a glove that keeps hands warm without the puffy, restrictive feel of heavily insulated gloves — ideal for active use where dexterity matters.
Primaloft® Gold Insulation with Cross Core™ Technology
"Engineered with Primaloft® Gold Insulation featuring Cross Core™ Technology" — Primaloft® Gold is the premium tier of Primaloft's synthetic insulation, offering the best warmth-to-weight ratio in the Primaloft lineup. Cross Core™ Technology is Primaloft's advanced formulation that combines the synthetic fibers with Aerogel particles, creating an insulation that traps more warm air in less material. The result is exceptional warmth without the bulk.
Aerogel for Advanced Thermal Efficiency
"Enhanced by Aerogel for advanced thermal efficiency" — Aerogel is one of the lightest solid materials known and an exceptional insulator. Originally developed by NASA for space applications, Aerogel traps air in a silica matrix, creating an incredibly efficient thermal barrier in a thin profile. The Stowe Aerogel Glove uses Aerogel to boost warmth without adding weight or bulk, making it ideal for active winter use where you need warmth and dexterity.
bluesign® Approved Ripstop Stretch Woven Shell
"The bluesign® approved ripstop stretch woven shell provides water resistance and movement-mirroring stretch" — the shell is a ripstop stretch woven fabric with bluesign® approval (environmental and safety standards). The ripstop construction prevents small tears from spreading, while the stretch woven construction allows the glove to move with the hand for natural dexterity. The water-resistant treatment helps shed light snow and rain.
Built for Fast-Moving Winter Pursuits
"Built for fast-moving winter pursuits, delivering lightweight warmth, dexterity, and technical performance" — the Stowe is designed for the active rider, hiker, trail runner, and anyone who needs a warm glove that doesn't get in the way of movement. The low-bulk design and stretch construction allow for full dexterity, making the glove suitable for activities where you need to grip poles, adjust bindings, or use tools without removing the gloves.
Hiking, Trail Running, and Everyday Mountain Life
"For Hiking, Trail Running, and Everyday Mountain Life" — the Stowe is versatile enough for the full range of winter activities. Use it for cold-weather hiking, trail running, Nordic skiing, winter walking, commuting in cold weather, or everyday mountain life (walking the dog, shoveling snow, etc.). The lightweight packable design makes it easy to throw in a bag or jacket pocket when not in use.
Touchscreen-Compatible Fingertips
"Touchscreen-compatible fingertips allow seamless device use" — the index finger and thumb (or all fingertips) have touchscreen-compatible material, allowing the user to operate a phone or other touchscreen device without removing the gloves. Essential for the modern active user who needs to check messages, take photos, or use navigation apps while on the move.
Silicone Print Grip
"Silicone print grip ensures safe handling of gear and tools" — the palm and fingers have silicone print patterns that provide enhanced grip when handling poles, trekking poles, tools, or other gear. The silicone print is subtle enough to not interfere with dexterity but provides reliable grip in wet or dry conditions.
Stretch Cuff, Pull-On Tab, and Connecting Snaps
"A stretch cuff, pull-on tab, and snaps to connect the gloves" — the stretch cuff provides a secure, comfortable fit at the wrist that seals out cold and snow. The pull-on tab makes the glove easier to put on (especially helpful when your hands are cold or wet). The snaps to connect the gloves let you clip the pair together when storing, so you never lose one glove.
Packable Design
"Make them packable" — the Stowe's lightweight construction and lack of bulk make the gloves easy to pack in a bag, jacket pocket, or running vest when not in use. The connecting snaps keep the pair together for storage. Ideal for activities where you might warm up and want to stash the gloves (e.g., during a hard uphill hike or run).
Wind and Weather Resistance
"Whether navigating windy ridgelines or daily mountain life" — the Stowe is designed to handle wind and weather in active winter scenarios. The water-resistant shell sheds light snow and rain, and the Primaloft Gold + Aerogel insulation traps warm air even when the gloves get slightly damp. The glove is not fully waterproof (no GORE-TEX membrane), but it handles wind and light precipitation well.

Drying
Allow the Stowe Aerogel Gloves to air dry at room temperature after use. Remove any snow or excess water from the interior, and stuff with newspaper or a dry towel to absorb moisture. Don't use direct heat (radiator, hair dryer, dryer) to dry the gloves — high heat can damage the Primaloft insulation, the Aerogel particles, and the stretch shell fabric. The gloves should be completely dry before long-term storage to prevent mildew and odor.
Cleaning
Wipe down the exterior of the gloves with a damp cloth to remove dirt, salt, and debris. For tougher stains, hand wash in cold water with a mild technical fabric wash (like Nikwax Tech Wash or Grangers Performance Wash). Avoid harsh detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners, which can damage the Primaloft insulation, the Aerogel, and the stretch shell fabric. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry.
DWR Refresh
The water-resistant shell has a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment that helps water bead off the surface. When water stops beading (the fabric "wets out" and water soaks in), refresh the DWR with a spray-on or wash-in product (like Nikwax TX.Direct or Grangers Performance Repel). Apply per the product instructions, then tumble dry on low heat or iron on low with a cloth barrier to activate the DWR.
Storage
Store the Stowe Aerogel Gloves in a cool, dry place when not in use. The connecting snaps let you clip the pair together for storage. Avoid leaving the gloves in direct sunlight for extended periods — UV exposure can degrade the stretch shell fabric over time. Don't store the gloves in a hot car — extreme heat can damage the Primaloft insulation and the Aerogel particles. For long-term storage, make sure the gloves are clean and completely dry to prevent mildew and odor.
Repair
Small tears or holes can be repaired with a patch kit (like Tenacious Tape) or by an outdoor gear repair service. For insulation issues or shell material failures, contact Outdoor Research for warranty service — the Infinite Guarantee® covers defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the product.
